45 Year Old Copperopolis Man Lost His Life in Murphys Area Accident

Murphys, CA...On June 3, 2021, at approximately 1500 hours, a 45 year old Copperopolis man was driving a black Jeep Compass northbound on a fire road at a private residence near Apple Blossom Drive in Murphy's CA. he allowed his vehicle to exit the fire road. The Jeep overturned down an embankment and came to rest on its side. He was not wearing a seatbelt. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Camp Connell, CA...On the morning of June 2, 2021, at about 8:15 AM Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible residential burglary in the 12000 block of Hwy 4 Camp Connell CA. The reporting party stated they were watching their security cameras when they noticed a dark colored Ford Ranger parked on the property. The reporting party noted it was suspicious and believed there was a possible crime afoot, possibly a theft or burglary in progress.

Miami, FL...A Florida couple was sentenced to prison today for their participation in a scheme to file four fraudulent loan applications seeking more than $1.1 million in forgivable Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) loans guaranteed by the Small Business Administration (SBA) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
