Placerville/Camino/South Lake Tahoe - With one of the driest winters on record, vegetation is drying earlier and the fire danger is rising. Beginning on June 17, 2013 CAL FIRE’s Amador-El Dorado- Sacramento Unit will suspend dooryard burning permits and the Forest Service will begin fire restrictions in portions of Eldorado National Forest. Sierra Pacific Foundation Awards $518,542 in Scholarships

Anderson, CA -- The Sierra Pacific Foundation, the philanthropic organization founded by the Emmerson Family, recently marked its thirty-fourth year in granting scholarships to dependent children of Sierra Pacific Industries’ employees. This year 203 students will collectively receive $518,542 to attend colleges, universities and trade schools during the 2013-2014 school year.
