Traffic Update... Motorcycles Out of Control |

Amador County, CA... CHP have released reports of two separate incidents where motorcycles were driven out of control by their riders. The first incident was on Hwy 88 West of Ham's Station on the 16th of August where Christopher Purfeerst of Pioneer, CA was struck from behind by a hit and run motorcyclist. The motorcycle rider attempted to pass on the wrong side striking and damaging Mr. Purfeerst's vehicle on the right side - this collision is still under investigation. The reports are enclosed...

Pioneer, CA...Panther Creek Road has been closed due to a lightening strike vegetation fire mid slope on Panther Creek Road. Smoke from this fire is making things smokey along Hwy 88 and also West Point Area....

Amador County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on State Route 88 (SR-88) from Jackson Creek Overflow to SR-124 (just past Martin Lane) for roadway excavation. Ione, A staff physician is recovering from injuries she suffered yesterday from an attack by a Mule Creek State Prison inmate. Shortly after 8 a.m. on August 12, 2013, inmate Robert Daniel Perry, 61, arrived to a medical appointment at the prison. Without warning, he grabbed the doctor by her hair and started choking her. Ione, CA..CHP is reporting a multiple vehicle accident on Hwy 88 at Buena Vista where there is a white suv on top of the other vehicles and there are 3 vehicles involved. It is unknown yet if parties are trapped. Please use caution in the area... Update as of 3:30pm...A bit of good news at least relatively. No fatalities, moderate injuries, one flat bed and two regular tow trucks on the way. Normally we try not to post accident photos for lots of reasons but in this one if everyone can walk away with only minor to moderate injuries it is almost grounds for celebration...
