It’s a ‘Ladies night’ of shopping, wine, and appetizers, and $10.00 to get in! All admission goes straight to the Bret Harte Aquatic Center! This event will be bigger and better then ever. Don’t miss the opportunity on Saturday, March 1, to take three 90-minute workshops of your choice given by some of our area’s top artists. This fourth annual “mini arts institute” is open to residents in Amador and Calaveras Counties, or beyond, and specifically targets adults and junior and high school students. From a menu of 14 classes, attendees may select three courses to “take a taste” of the arts, either for the first time or for further exploration. Presidents Wine Weekend is February 15-16, 2014

Murphys, CA...February 15-16, 2014 – President’s Wine Weekend – The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance presents the 18th annual Presidents’ Wine Weekend at all 22 CWA wineries from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a great opportunity to sample the fine wines of Calaveras, celebrate with friends old and new, and take advantage of special discounts. With the purchase of a $20 commemorative wine glass, you are entitled to a free 'limited-tasting' flight at all participating member wineries, Saturday through Sunday. Full tastings will be available in each tasting room for an additional fee. Wine glasses will be available on Main Street in Murphys, on Saturday only, in front of the Native Sons Hall. Or get a glass all weekend long at locations in Calaveras County: The Calaveras Visitor’s Bureau in Angels Camp, Chatom Vineyards on Highway 4 in Douglas Flat , Frog’s Tooth Vineyards in Murphys, Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys, Brice Station in East Murphys and Val du Vino Winery on the corner of Main Street and French Gulch Road. Frogtown, USA...Cost-saving incentives encourage local vendors to jump in and be part of the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. The May 15-18 event provides great commercial opportunities with discounts up to 20 percent for local companies. Non-profit and commercial vendors can choose outside exhibit areas at Frogtown or be located indoors in Mark Twain Hall or the Floriculture building. Rental rates range from $200 for crafters with handmade items to $1,100 for prime commercial space....
