"I did not know Gavin. However, i will never be able to forget his name. I was here, in Afghanistan, when Gavin started his last journey home. I wish his family to know that as we few hundred stood on that flightline for a memorial to honor his great sacrifice that his actions will not be in vane and will never be forgotten! I will never be able to forget those moments, the image of a young man i never met, who gave something that most in our great land will never, ever be able to comprehend. May god be with his family and his wife. Rest assured that his memory will live on!" Comment On Article....Author Unknown

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 06/16/2010 10:52 PM

Copperopolis, CA...Opening night for Music in the Parks in Copperopolis Town Square brought to you by the Calaveras Arts Council was an amazingly uplifting experience. The crowds began to claim their slice of shaded lawn early in the evening, setting out blankets, and picnics fit for a king. Snaps had their fair share of wine sippers enjoying the unobstructed view of the gazebo from the patio, while ice cream lovers devoured cones from Cruiser’s. A few of man’s best friend were also present, patiently awaiting the music with ......

Copperopolis Receives Six Youth Missionaries for the Summer with Open Arms~by Charity Maness

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 06/16/2010 11:24 PM
What words would you use to describe a youth missionary? How about; outgoing, bright, loving, gentle, intelligent, resourceful, cool, fun, and above all trusting and faithful. Some may find these words surprising due to the sometimes misunderstood nature of missionary work, but these are but a few of the words one could use to describe the six youth missionaries that have descended upon Copperopolis for the summer as guests of the Copper Canyon Baptist Church....

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 06/15/2010 08:09 PM
Copperopolis, CA....After working for over a year coordinating with the VFW headquarters in Kansas City and working with Sacramento the very first meeting for the formation of a VFW Post in Copperopolis was held on June 13, 2010. This date holds special meaning to me, for it was my son’s 22 birthday, which he was celebrating in Afghanistan with the rest of 3/7 India Company of the United States Marine Corps. I would like to give you a little background on why I personally felt a VFW post was necessary. ....

Ebbett's Pass Fire personnel helped a local veteran who wishes to remain anonymous hang a huge American Flag in the Bristol's Parking Lot in Arnold. He stayed with and illuminated the Flag last night in honor of Gavin. The Ebbett's Pass Veterans Association has also placed their Flags along Hwy 4 in Brummund's honor. An eloquently worded sign in front of the Flag says it all..

Pure Pigment Watercolor Experience with artist Ken McBride~by Charity Maness

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 06/12/2010 04:19 PM
Copperopolis, CA...Saturday June 12, brought a wonderful artistic adventure to the Copperopolis Town Square. Hosted by Town Hall Arts, artist Ken McBride entranced his audience of artists in the making with his creative take on ‘monoprint.’ To better understand the art of monoprint he quotes, “One process of water media I enjoy is that of making a monoprint by pressing a hard surfaced paper onto randomly arranged pure pigment-colors.” If this sounds confusing and somewhat reminiscent of tie dye techniques, you are on the right track......
