On Sunday, 03/18/2012, at approximately 0625 hours, Calaveras County 911 Dispatch received a call from a residence on Moran Rd in Arnold, reporting a tree had fallen on the residence...


We would like to thank Tim Sullivan for sending in the photo above. We know that many of you are curious about the size of the tree. Needless to say from the shot above it was a large heavy tree. We try to balance what we publish with how it well affect all involved. We hope that by posting this we can slow some of the drive by traffic..

Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible. Tonight: Snow. Low around 24. South southwest wind between 17 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 18 to 24 inches possible....

Arnold Resident Kevin Duey Was Suspect in Yesterday's Death

Arnold, CA...This is an update to information released regarding the officer involved shooting that occurred in Arnold yesterday on 3-15-12. The Deputy involved in the shooting is Corporal Tom Oldham, a seven and a half year veteran with the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department. The suspect who was shot and killed yesterday has been positively identified as Kevin Charles Duey, age 44, who resided on Moran Road in Arnold. At the time of his death, and in lieu of a jail sentence for a Driving Under the Influence charge, Duey was participating in the Probation Department’s alternative sentencing electronic monitoring program and was wearing an ankle bracelet. Duey had one prior conviction in 1991 for obstructing/delaying a peace officer...

Arnold, CA...Stop by the CHS Thrift Store Adoption Center in Arnold, located in Meadowmont next to Big Trees Market (Phone 209-795-GIVE). The adoption center has different hours this month! We will only be open FRI - SAT., 10-5pm each week. This week we will have approx. 7 kitties available to meet you. For the month of March, Calaveras Humane Society is having a LUCKY CHARMS SPECIAL. We have reduced the adoption donation on all of our Four-Leaf Clover kitties (4 months of age & older) from $50 to only $25. Armed Suspect Killed By Deputy This Morning in Arnold (Update...Another Release Coming Friday Morning)

Arnold, CA...On Thursday 3-15-12 at about 8:24am, Calaveras County Sheriffs Office Dispatch Center received information of a possible burglary in progress near the 700 block of Blue Lake Springs Drive in Arnold. The driver of a local gas company had radioed his office that a male subject flagged him down claiming that his house was being burglarized. The subject who reported this information to the gas driver reportedly grabbed the driver while waiving a handgun and then went into the wooded area between homes in this residential neighborhood. Deputies were sent to the area while dispatch received further phone calls regarding a subject with similar description on Moran Road armed with a gun. Several subsequent callers heard shots fired in the neighborhood and a caller reported seeing a male suspect firing a gun near the intersection of Moran Road and Dawyn Drive...

He was born on March 27, 1954 in San Mateo and was raised in the bay where he made a living working in the roofing industry. Arnold Arson Suspect Arrested

Arnold, CA.... On March 11, 2012 at approx. 3:00 AM, Calaveras Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 776 Summit View Road, Arnold, for a reported residential arson. The homeowners, Jill Cook and Daniel Hill called to report that Robert Lars Farmer (28) of Arnold, was seen walking away from the house carrying a gas can and a stick.....

The weather snapshot starts at Bear Valley and then drops to Arnold, Murphys, Angels Camp and Copperopolis. This hopefully will give you a glimpse of what to expect by elevation. Today: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. South wind between 8 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Tonight: Snow. Low around 24. Breezy, with a south southwest wind between 16 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible....
