The Martian Review: Lost in Space ~ By Brett Bunge
Posted by: thepinetree on 10/11/2015 11:12 AM
Hollywood, CA...First things first: The Martian is a pretty good movie. Like all good films, however, it comes with a catch. In this case, if you don’t like Matt Damon, you will probably not like this film, as it is two hours of Mr. Damon. That said, he delivers an extraordinary performance, filled with surprising amounts of humor, and an-all star cast carries the rest of the film, which stands on its own as a solid drama, and one that audiences will enjoy even if they haven’t read the book.

Black Mass Review: Gangster’s Paradise? ~ By Brett Bunge
Posted by: thepinetree on 10/06/2015 12:08 PM
Hollywood, CA...Near the beginning of Black Mass, Johnny Depp, portraying Boston crime boss James “Whitey” Bulger, tells his young son that he should only “punch someone when no one is looking.” It’s an apt statement to describe the elder Bulger, who lingers in the background until it’s time to strike. It also applies to the film itself, which—while flawed—is a dark and understated crime drama that concerns itself with backroom dealings, shady meetings, and at times, shocking violence, most of it committed by Bulger himself.

Murphys, CA...Best of Show for 2015 went to Michael King for his 1932 Ford B-150 Station Wagon. It was his father's car and he did most of the restoration work himself. The very first event we covered for ThePineTree.net was the Ironstone Concours d' Elegance. It always has a special place on the calendar for us and we try to take a picture or two of every entrant in the event. We also have the Awards Ceremony in HD Video. This event showcases the cars and Ironstone Vineyards as the works of art that they are.
