La Grange, CA...Time for a Spring wildflower tour, destination La Grange. The Odd Fellows of Lafayette Historical Lodge #65 remind you of our monthly breakfast, always on the second Sunday at the IOOF Hall in downtown La Grange. Sunday April 8th is the date this month. Breakfast hours are 8 to 11 am, the menu is biscuits and gravy, sausage, ham & cheese omelets and all you can eat pancakes. Complimentary coffee and orange juice round out the meal, all for $6, ages 6 to 12 $3, free for kids 5 and under.

Yosemite Conservancy Provides $12.5 Million to Yosemite National Park |

Yosemite National Park, CA...Yosemite Conservancy is providing $12.5 million in support to Yosemite National Park to improve the Bridalveil Fall visitor experience, rebuild a section of the trail around Tenaya Lake and collect data using 3-D aerial mapping to improve resource management parkwide, among 36 projects funded in 2018. “We want everyone’s visit to Yosemite to be inspiring, just like the park itself, today and for future generations. Our grants focus on protecting and preserving the park and enhancing the visitor experience,” said Yosemite Conservancy President Frank Dean.

Flooding Forces Full Highway Closure of State Route 59 in Merced County |

Snelling, CA...From Caltrans...Caltrans has closed northbound and southbound State Route 59 (SR-59) for five miles from Reilly Road to Sandy Mush Road in Merced County for repair work following last week’s heavy rain. The photos below are of the bridge at Mariposa Creek, where crews are watching vigilantly and awaiting for the water level to drop to an optimum level so they can safely re-open SR-59. The closure is expected to last multiple days, in order to safely allow the water level from the crossing with Mariposa Creek to fall before re-opening the road.

Coulterville, CA...From the Mariposa County Sheriff's Office....The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office has been searching for two missing from the 3/22/2018 Storm / Flooding Event. Missing Person Details: Carol Brown 72 of Catheys Valley, On March 22nd at approximately 5pm Carol left her house to check on horses due to the heavy rain and flooding. When Carol did not return back to the house after 30 minutes her husband started to look for her and found their side by side utility vehicle she was driving laying on its side in the creek / river.

Coulterville, CA...Fron his family..."MISSING: JOHN HONESTO — LAST SEEN IN GREELEY HILL, CA ON THURSDAY, 3/22 ABOUT 12:30PM. DRIVING: 2015 Black Toyota Avalon, license plate number 7HRT316. PLEASE REPOST, ESPECIALLY PEOPLE WITHIN THE AREA. Your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes are appreciated but your help is vital. Help my father come home safely. UPDATE- I want to thank everyone for all the love and support during these chaotic times. My dads car was located. When HWY 132 washed out, his vehicle went down with it. They were able to locate the vehicle 1.6 miles downstream. He was not in the vehicle. We're praying for a miracle that he was ejected and alive.
