Calaveras Humane Society To Open Full Service Animal Shelter |

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras Humane Society announced today that it has purchased a building in Angels Camp to renovate and open as a full-service animal shelter in late 2018. The property, located at 1209 Highway 49 near Spence Ranch Feed and Supply and Angels Camp Veterinary Hospital, will be remodeled to include housing for dogs, cats, and small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs, as well as office spaces, get acquainted rooms, grooming areas and more.

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce their 2nd Annual Mega Mixer will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 5:30pm till 7:00pm at the San Andreas Town Hall located at 24 Church Hill Road in San Andreas. This event, sponsored by Mark Twain Medical Center, will be free to attend as a “Thank You” to all the supporters of the local business community.

Ronald (Ron) Ruisi 1953 - 2018 |

Arnold, CA...Ronald (Ron) Ruisi, 64, of Arnold California passed away peacefully at his home on January 9, 2018. He was born October 22, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Queens, New York by Victor and Millie Ruisi. In 1971, at age 18, Ron joined the United States Navy where he served in Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong and the Philippines. While stationed in Alameda California, he met and fell in love with his wife of 43 years, Tami Ruisi in Hayward California. After they were married, the couple moved to New York where they lived for three and a half years. Following their time in New York, they moved back to Tami's home town of Arnold California, where he quickly adjusted to mountain life and lived for 39 years.

Sacramento, CA...Heavy Snow Possible Over The Mountains Thursday through Friday. A cold Pacific storm system is forecast to move through the interior of Northern California on Thursday and Thursday night, with snow showers continuing through the day on Friday. Snow levels will lower rapidly with this storm, dropping to around 4000 feet Thursday night, and hovering between 3000 and 4000 feet Friday. In addition, gusty winds during the storm may bring poor visibilities.
