Angels Camp, CA....Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Angels Camp 2020 General Plan was the topic of discussion at a Tuesday Meeting held at the Angels Fire House. The City conducted an open house to solicit public and agency input to identify potential environmental effects that may be associated with the adoption of the plan. Calaveras County, CA....The Endowment for Youth Program, sponsored by Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital, is now accepting applications for the 2008 Endowment for Youth Program. Each year the hospital’s Thrift Stores provide funding opportunities for not-for-profit Calaveras County projects that provide services to children ages 0-18. In 2007, $34,426 was awarded to 62 community organizations in support of their individual youth projects. To obtain an application, please contact Diana Rodrigues at 736-0864. ....

Ebbetts Pass Veteran's Memorial District Holds Ground Breaking Ceremony Today in Honor of 9/11

Murphys, CA.....The Ebbetts Pass Veteran's Memorial District held a ground breaking ceremony today at Murphys Community Park. The 5 members of the board are having a new Veteran's Memorial constructed by Ryan Van Cleave of ETCH. Ryan was on hand with the dedication. Ryan's work features Architectural Concrete Coloring and Design, as well as pre-cast handcrafted benches and state of the art LED lighting. While the first phase of the memorial is being constructed, Lazar Engraved Bricks will be promoted and sold for....

Angels Camp, CA....Angels Camp, CA....Take me out to the ball game! Tamara Dragmanovich and Karen Moore, two very dear people in our county have been diagnosed with cancer. To help support them and their families, the community is holding a Cancer Benefit Co-Ed Softball Tournament. The tournament will be held on September 13th at the Copello Park in Angels Camp. As of Thursday of last week there were 12 teams signed up for the tournament.....
