Valley Springs, CA...Alicia Marie Duncan of Valley Springs, California was born on July 2, 1990. God called her home on October 25, 2014 at the young age of 24. Alicia graduated from Calaveras High School and worked several years at El Dorado Savings Bank in San Andreas. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was very family oriented and had a beautiful heart of gold. She touched the lives of many people with her infectious smile and contagious laugh that she would always want us to remember her by....

Valley Springs, CA...Crews are working a Sheriff's Deputy's vehicle vs a deer near Hartvickson Ln / Baldwin St. An ambulance has been dispatched for possible injuries. In Tuolumne County there is a vehicle into a ditch with airbags deployed in the Crystal Falls area. Lets be careful out there. |

Calaveras County, CA...We will “fall back” from daylight saving time on November 2. Whew! That is only 49 days before the Winter Solstice. Then on the second Sunday of March 2015 we “spring forward” again. This happens in most states with Arizona being one of the few exceptions. Daylight Saving Time is not entirely popular and there are some drawbacks. For example, it has been found that accidents of all types increase on days following the time change in March. This probably results from sleep deprivation.

24 Year Old Valley Springs Woman Dies When Falling From Moving Truck |

Valley Springs, CA...Richard Adams, 36 from Valley Springs was driving his 2011 Chevy pickup westbound on Hwy 26, just after 2am on Saturday morning just west of Heinemann Drive at an undermined speed when Adam's passenger for unknown reasons, came out of the vehicle while it was moving. When the passenger impacted the ground she suffered fatal injuries. During the investigation, it was determined that Adams was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for driving under the influence violations...

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee was honored at the Calaveras Visitor's Bureau annual dinner earlier this week. The event which was held at the Black Bear Inn in Arnold CA recognizes businesses who have made innovations in tourism. The Fair received and "Innovations in Tourism" award for the 2014 Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee. In addition the Fair received recognition from the California State Assembly and Senate....

San Andreas, CA....Prop 47 reduces some felonies to misdemeanors but assures us the public will remain safe because no dangerous offenders will benefit. Once the clever language of Prop 47 is decoded however, the impacts of Prop 47 are opposite its assurance and title. Domestic violence, child abuse, stalking, involuntary manslaughter, and resisting an officer causing death are already considered “non-serious” and “non-violent” crimes under the law. Residential burglary, carjacking, robbery, and arson are considered “serious” or “violent” crimes under the law and these are commonly called “strikes”. Under Prop 47, none of the above crimes will be considered a “danger” to public safety....
