Cause: Lightning Location: Stanislaus National Forest, Groveland Ranger District; Acres Burned: 2,697; Percent Contained:35%; Full Containment Expected: No Estimate; Date Started: 6/21/08; Resources: 11 hand crews, 27 engines, 2 dozers, 7 water tenders, 4 helicopters, air tankers on order; Personnel Assigned: 480; Injuries: 9. Two More Small Vegetation Fires Reported in Tuolumne County Over the Weekend |

Tuoulumne County, CA....CAL Fire reported two small vegetation fires in Tuolumne County over the weekend. The first was at 13254 Mono Way in Sonora on June 27th. Cause of fire was arson. It burned a 50' x 50' spot of vegetation. No injuries. The 2nd fire was at South Lake Tulloch Campground on June 29th. Cause is undetermined. 1 acre of vegetation was burned. CAL Fire reports enclosed....

Cause of Structure Fire in Sonora Under Investigation Per CAL Fire |

Sonora, CA....A structure fire occurred at 20556 Flora Lane in Sonora on Monday in Tuolumne County. The fire damaged a sliding door and deck. Estimated dollar damage is $1,000. Cause is under investigation. See Full CAL Fire report enclosed....

Tuolumne County, CA....We have just been informed that there has been a single motorcycle accident with possible double fatality at Hwy 108 and George's Drive in the Strawberry area. Please use caution in the area as the Traffic is controlled. Please keep these parties in your thoughts and prayers. (Update The victims were identified as Johnny Ray Vernon Sr., 47, and his wife, Gail Lynn Vernon, 46 of Modesto)

Tuolumne County, CA....CAL Fore states a lightning strike was the cause of a 1/4 acres grass fire that occurred on June 21st at the East side of J59/Hetch Hetchy Power in Tuolumne County. No injuries reported and no dollar damage reported. Full CAL Fire report enclosed.....
