CHP Release on Wind Related Big Rig Accidents Yesterday |

Jackson, CA...The high winds yesterday morning resulted in several big rigs being blown over on Hwy 88. The road was subsequently closed until the winds subsided. The accident enclosed was the only one that resulted in injuries....

The Mother Lode Experiencing Power Outages ...You Can Now Track Outages Online |

San Francisco, CA...PG&E has moved their outage information online. You can track how many outages are reported in an area and the number of customers affected. The outage range totals are wide enough to not be much help but it does provide a good idea of their workload in an area. The following is from their outage map at this time...AMADOR: 4 outage(s) affecting 500 to 4999 customer(s), Cause: Unknown, Status: Awaiting assessment, Start Time of Outage: 01/20/2010 09:59:00 AM, Est. Traffic Alert...A Portion of Highway 88 Closed Due to High Winds |

Jackson, CA...The Amador Area of CHP reports that Highway 88 (SR-88) from Lower Ridge Road to the intersection of SR-104 (toward Ione) will be closed due to extremely high winds in the area. The highway will reopen when conditions and winds are safe enough for vehicular travel. State Highway Road conditions can be heard by calling 1-800-427-ROAD (7623) or on the web at www.dot.ca.gov |

76 Year Old Pioneer Resident Ruth J. Neal Loses Her Life in Traffic Accident on Hwy 88 (Updated after Notifications) |

Pioneer, CA...A 76year Old Pioneer woman Ruth J. Neal lost her life yesterday in a traffic accident on Hwy 88 near Tabeau Rd. It was a 4 vehicle head-on and glancing collision that sent a 38 year old Livermore resident to Sutter Amador for minor injuries. We just checked in the CHP Jackson and they are still awaiting notification of next of kin before the deceased's name can be released. The CHP release is enclosed.. |

Angels Camp, CA...On 11-10-09 the owner of a large bronze colored frog statue reported the statue as stolen. The reporting party and victim, who resides in the 600 block of Live Oak Avenue in Angels Camp, stated that she was out of town from Nov 1 2009 through Nov 9 2009. When she returned home she discovered the statue was stolen....

Update on Mountain Ranch Power Outage... |

Mountain Ranch, CA...We just heard back from PG&E's Nicole Liebelt and there are approximately 700 customers currently without power in the Fricot City, Mountain Ranch and Railroad Flat areas. The outage started at 6:39am this morning and they hopefully should have power restored within the hour. She stated that this outage is unrelated to the current fire that crews are working in the area. |
