Angels Camp, CA...This last weekend Kokanee Power held a two day tournament on New Melones Reservoir. They had over 100 participants, 13 juniors, and 43 teams. We spoke with President Gary Coe to get some details on the event. He had rave reveiws on the quaililty of the fish. They were all beautiful, healthy and put up a wonderful fight. Most fish were caught in 50-110' of water between Glory Hole Point and the 49 bridge. There were many baits that produced fish with the most popular being Glitterbug's Micro Hoochies in pink, orange, and green fish behind a small tear drop dodger. Another lure that work well was an Apex. One key to catching the larger fish was to troll at a slow speed around 1.5mph. Kokanee Power payed 15 places and the top 10 juniors received tackle packs....

Over 4 and 1/2 Hours of CCWD Rate Increase Meeting Video

San Andreas, CA...On Wednesday in an over 5 hour meeting the CCWD Board voted to implement part of the proposed rate increases that had raised the communities ire. In a nutshell they are going to implement the first three years of water increases and the first 2 years of sewer increases and then cap the server rates at $90 for years 4 and 5. Literally thousands of rate protest letters had been turned in but not quite enough to block the increase from going into effect. The board however I think weighed the needs of investments in capital improvement projects and the very real financial constraints of their customers.
Over 4 1/2 Hours of Meeting Video Is Above and the Original and Partially Implemented Rate Information is Enclosed..
