"Santa" Lonnie Graham passed away on Saturday, July 18th....Memorial Service Planned for August 1st at White Pines Lake

Arnold, CA....Lonnie Graham, longtime resident of the Arnold area, passed away at home on Saturday. Also known as the "Arnold Santa", Mr. Graham was 78. Lonnie was a past President and Charter Member of the Arnold Lions Club and had been the "Arnold Santa" for over 20 years. He will be missed by so many! A memorial service will be held at the Lions Grove at White Pines Park on August 1st at 10am. Please keep the Graham family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Pamela Sue Nichols, a longtime resident of Antioch, CA passed away on July 4, 2009 of Natural Causes at Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital. She was 54. A native of Pittsburgh, CA, Pamela was a Homemaker. She moved around alot and would always end up back in Antioch. She is survived by two children, Shane Taylor and Charlie Watson, both of Antioch; A sister, Sandra Watson of Antioch and two Grandchildren. Private services are planned.

Arnold, CA...Vietnam veteran James R. Telezinski died Friday, July 3, 2009. He was 59. A native of Alexandria, Va., Mr. Telezinski was born Oct. 26, 1949. He moved from San Jose in 1978 to Dorrington with his wife, Judy, and there they raised two wonderful children. He was loved and respected in the community. His love for his family and friends, and his community services, will leave a void in everyone’s heart that will never be replaced...

Burson, CA....Longtime Burson resident, Mike M. Nicholson, passed away on July 1st, 2009 at his residence of Natural Causes. He was only 45. Mike was born in San Jose, CA, and grew up in Vallejo, CA. He then moved to Antioch in 1989, Reno in 1991, Antioch in 1996, Modesto in 1997 and to Burson in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Crystal Nicholson; His two sons, Mike Nicholson, III and David Nicholson, both of Burson; A brother, Don Nicholson of Valley Springs; And one grandchild. ....

San Andreas, CA....Lifetime resident, Harry Edward Briski, passed away on June 22nd 2009 of Natural Causes at his daughters residence. He was 69 years old old. Harry was a Well Driller in Valley Springs. A native of Stockton, Harry grew up and lived in Calaveras County all of his life. After graduating from Calaveras High School, he attended college for a short time then went to work for Calaveras Cement Company until it closed and then he went to work for Briski Well Drilling with his family and has worked there until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Angels Camp....

Steve Gahl of Arnold, CA passed away peacefully on June 5th at the age of 41 after a brave 3 year battle with cancer. He is survived by his partner of over 6 years Lee Ann Soares of Arnold. Steve and Lee Ann met on New Years Eve 2002 at their mutual friend Lisa Mayo’s house in Douglas Flat. At the time they had no idea they lived a few blocks away from each other in the Bay Area. They soon started dating and would return to Calaveras County regularly for weekend trips....

Lisa Anne West, 49, passed away peacefully in her home on May 30th, 2009. Surrounded by family and close friends, after a 19 month battle with brain cancer. She fought the brain cancer bravely with a positive attitude and outlook despite the challenges of the disease. Lisa was a loving wife of 24 years to Tim West. Lisa enjoyed spending time with her family and friends on vacations in Hawaii and Mexico and and at home. You would most often find Lisa playing Yahtzee, cooking, reading, planning weekend social events or spending time enjoying her pool at her home. Her dogs ("sons") Peejo and Poncho were never far from her side....

For those of you that knew her I hope you will remember her for her infectious laugh, her giving heart, and her unending love of life. My mother was a retired RN and found great joy in participating in medial missions to Peru, Ecuador, Africa, and more. When I was young she worked with blind children teaching them the basics of brail, she would visit children.....

Angels Camp, CA...If how many people attend your funeral is any indicator of how a person lives their life then Councilman Paul Raggio's life was a life well lived. The Catholic Church was filled and overflowing on Sunday. Hundreds came to pay their respects to a man and family that figured so prominently in our area's history....
