Murphys, CA...From San Andreas CHP..."This morning we had two vehicles stolen from the Murphys area. Both vehicles were left unoccupied and running in their driveways to warm up less than a mile apart. It took the thieves seconds to steal these cars after the occupants went back into their homes. Thieves are walking our neighborhoods looking for crimes of opportunity, DO NOT HELP THEM by leaving your keys in your car. Felony DUI Arrest After Major Injury Traffic Collision

Twain Harte, CA...On February 16, 2020 at approximately 7:30pm, 21-year-old Zachary Morris of Twain Harte was driving his 1995 Toyota Corolla along with his passenger, 24-year-old Kyle Rooks of Sonora. They were traveling eastbound on Joaquin Gully Road, west of Middle Camp Road at approximately 40 miles per hour when Mr. Morris allowed his vehicle to drift to the right onto the south shoulder and collide with a street sign. After the impact with the street sign, the vehicle continued in a southerly direction and collided with some large trees.

Angels Camp, CA...On 02/15/2020, at approximately 1030 hours, Mr. Zhang was driving his Lexus eastbound on SR-4, east of Pool Station Road, traveling at an unknown speed. Mr. Heffington was driving his Toyota westbound on SR-4, east of Pool Station Road at an unknown speed. As the two vehicles approached the same curve in the roadway, Mr. Zhang allowed his Lexus to travel over the double yellow lines and into the opposing traffic lane, directly into the path of the Toyota. The front of the Lexus collided with the front of the Toyota in the westbound traffic lane. The Lexus continued onto the north shoulder and collided with a traffic sign and overturned.

Jackson, CA...From the Amador Sheriff's Dept.."Just because you commit crimes in @amadorcounty and leave the area, doesn’t mean we won’t come find you. These two were suspected of stealing items from a vehicle at a local church and then using the victim’s credit cards all over Amador County. Through investigation they were tracked to a motel in Stockton, where our deputies, along with assistance from @sjcprobation contacted them yesterday. West Point, CA...On 02/13/2020, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation on an address located in the 2000 block of Bald Mountain Rd., in West Point. The marijuana was being grown in a large shop building which had been converted for indoor cultivation purposes. The shop was adjacent to a residence. Deputies located and seized 1,460 growing marijuana plants weighing 440 pounds. Calaveras Code Enforcement was called to the scene and red tagged the structure due to dangerous electrical modifications and structural changes. Deputies discovered liquid waste which was discharging onto the ground at the location.
U.S. Department of Education Launches Investigation into Foreign Gifts at Ivy League Universities

Washington, DC...Since July, the Department has uncovered more than $6 billion in unreported foreign gifts from countries including Qatar, China, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The U.S. Department of Education announced today it is launching investigations into both Harvard and Yale Universities after it appears both Ivy League higher education institutions potentially failed to report hundreds of millions of dollars in foreign gifts and contracts.
Rail Road Flat, CA..On February 8, 2020, at about 11:20 AM The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received a report of trespassing in the 100 block of Railroad Flat Rd., Railroad Flat. The reporting person stated he noticed a suspicious truck parked on his property. He asked the driver to leave the property; however, the driver refused to comply with the property owner’s requests. The property owner notified the Sheriff’s Office of the incident and requested a deputy to respond.
Major Injuries To Valley Springs Man After Being Ejected in Rollover

Valley Springs, CA...A 28 year old Valley Springs man was driving eastbound on SR-12 west of Pine Street. For an unknown reason, he drove off of the roadway and overturned, resulting in him being ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle continued off the road and came to rest in a gravel lot on it's roof. As a result the driver suffered major trauma and was flown to Doctor's Medical Center in Modesto.

A federal grand jury in Atlanta returned an indictment last week charging four members of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) with hacking into the computer systems of the credit reporting agency Equifax and stealing Americans’ personal data and Equifax’s valuable trade secrets.
