Greek and Italian fare included cheese and olive appetizers with Italian breads from Sierra Hills Market, caprese skewers with heirloom baby tomatoes and basil from the garden of Lisa Logan, wine club and sales associate for Zucca Mountain...

In Loving Memory of James Orr Taaffe, Descendant of Founding Family of Murphys |
Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 07/27/2011 06:22 PM
|
James Orr Taaffe died of cancer July 25 surrounded by family at his Angel’s Camp home. The 73-year-old was a fourth-generation Californian and the great-great-grandson of Martin Murphy Jr., whose brothers, John and Daniel, founded the town of Murphys during the gold rush. While his ancestors may have discovered their life’s fortune in the gold fields, Mr. Taaffe considered family and friends his lucky strike. Kind hearted, gentle natured and with a strong appreciation of humor, Mr. Taaffe seemed to effortlessly attract a diverse group of friends and admirers throughout his life-- something that never went unappreciated....

Posted by: John_Hamilton on 07/19/2011 10:40 AM
|
Murphys, CA...There are three common loan programs which are Federally Guaranteed – namely FHA, USDA and VA as well as a myriad of State programs. Many renters will qualify for one of the programs with little or no down payment. Some programs even allow down payment assistance in order to help first time home buyers.
Federal Housing Administration (FHA) insured loans are a type of federal assistance and have historically allowed lower income Americans to borrow money for the purchase of a home that they would not otherwise be able to afford. The program originated during the Great Depression of the 1930s, when the rates of foreclosures and defaults rose sharply, and the program was intended to provide lenders with sufficient insurance.
