During Power Outages Motorists Should Treat Non-Working Signals as All-Way Stops

Stockton, CA...Caltrans is preparing for widespread power outages beginning at midnight as PG&E cuts power to reduce the risk of wildfire. District 10 counties potentially affected are San Joaquin, Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa, Stanislaus and Tuolumne Counties, PG&E may potentially cut power early Wednesday, October 9 through midday Thursday, October 10. Motorists are reminded that the California Department of Motor Vehicle Driver Handbook mandates that non-working (dark) and flashing red traffic signals be treated as all-way stops during power outages. Drivers should proceed with caution through intersections and observe right-of-way rules.
PG&E is Monitoring a Severe Wind Event Later this Week That Could Impact Nearly 30 Counties Across Northern and Central California

San Francisco, CA...PG&E announced today that its meteorological and operations teams in its Emergency Operations Center continue to monitor a potentially widespread, strong and dry wind event Wednesday morning through Thursday afternoon. The event will impact northern, central, coastal and Bay Area counties across much of PG&E’s service area.
Arnold, CA...Mountain Passes Update....Hwys 88 Carson Pass, 108 Sonora Pass & 120 Tioga Pass Now Open...Ebbetts Remains Closed. This highway information is the latest reported as of Monday, September 30th, 2019 at 12:44 PM.
Arnold, CA...The early season storm has temporarily closed Hwy 120 Tioga pass and Hwy 108 Sonora Pass. Hwy 4 Ebbetts Pass has controls in effect over the summit. Hwy 88 Carson Pass had controls in place until a few minutes ago but has just dropped requirements. Drive Safe & Carry Chains, Blankets, Water & Food to tide you over if you are stranded in the high country.

Jackson, CA...(5:15 PM Update....Great response by fire personnel. The fire is 100% contained. Final acreage was mapped at 10.25 acres. Fire crews will remain in the area throughout the night to patrol for any hot spots.) From Cal-Fire AEU..."3:34 PM All evacuation warnings have been lifted. Firefighters have put a wet line around the fire and forward progress has stopped Threats to structures have been mitigated. Air Tankers made great drops of retardant to help hold the line for ground crews."
