Arnold, CA...The Greater Arnold Business Association (GABA) is sponsoring the 39th Annual "Independence Day Parade" in Arnold on Saturday, July 6th, 2019. This parade is one of the biggest draws of spectators, local and secondary home residents and tourists to our town, reaching 8 to 10,000 visitors for the day. We celebrate our independence day in conjunction with other civic community groups such as: Arnold Lions, Arnold Rotary, and the Ebbetts Pass Firefighters Association.

Your 6-mile, 45-minute roundtrip train ride will take you past the water tower from Petticoat Junction, and transport you from the backyards of Jamestown to the rugged hillsides of California’s Mother Lode country. At the end of the line (Rock Spur), your train will pause as the locomotive uncouples, runs around your car on a side track, then re-couples to the train’s opposite end for the return trip to Railtown.

Arnold, CA...Calaveras became a State Park in 1931 to preserve the North Grove of giant sequoias. This grove includes the "Discovery Tree", also known as the "Big Stump", the first Sierra redwood noted by Augustus T. Dowd in 1852. This area has been a major tourist attraction ever since, and is considered the longest continuously operated tourist facility in California. Over the years, other parcels of mixed conifer forests have been added to the park. This amazing park has a huge variety of habitats and recreational opportunities to explore. Yosemite National Park Announces Tioga Road To Open to Unrestricted Vehicular Traffic on Monday, July 1

Yosemite, CA...Yosemite National Park announces the Tioga Road will open to unrestricted vehicular traffic on Monday, July 1st, at 8:00 a.m..From now until the full opening Monday morning, vehicular access will continue to be available from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will continue to be no stopping along the road and no overnight parking.. Park Rangers will sweep the road after each open and closed period to make sure visitors are utilizing the corridor only to cross the Sierra. Bicycles will be allowed during daylight hours throughout the weekend.

The Deep End will host a variety of evening events and activities, starting Saturday, July 6th with a 1970's Disco dance party! Come out and boogie with us from 7:00-10:00 PM at the all-new Deep End. We'll be turning the clock back to 1977 with a live dj playing all disco, all night long, the dance floor will be open, the pool will be open late, and we'll even have prizes for the best-dressed people who come! So dust off your platform shoes, pull out your wrap-around skirts, and get down with us at the Deep End at Big Trees Fitness July 6th after the parade!
