Is Villa Del Lago Going Into Rehab?

Copperopolis, CA...Lake Tulloch Resort has closed for the season and possibly forever. Developer Bernadette Abramson is pushing for replacing the hotel with a 32 Townhouse project. Villa Del Lago was approved by the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors in August but Tri-Dam who controls the lake is against the project and has sued Calaveras County. Bernadette Abramson has recently issued a statement that she will open Lake Tulloch Resort back up as a Drug and Alcohol treatment center if the Villa Del Lago project is denied. Nine Hole Scramble and Horse Race, Benefit the Calaveras Community Association ~By Hanna Alldrin (Corrected)

Angels Camp, CA.....This afternoon over 60 people registered for the inaugural Nine Hole Scramble and Horse Race at Greenhorn Creek in Angels Camp. The new event is a fundraiser for the Calaveras Community Foundation. We spoke with J Shoop from the Calaveras Community Foundation and he shared, "we are excited to announce this event and we would like to make it an annual event." Each player donated $100 to play in the non-tournament, raising $6,000 just by entries......

Murphys, CA....The town of Murphys held their 1st Annual "Pink in the Night" Celebration on Wednesday with an Opening Ceremony at the Murphys Hotel. At 6pm, local businesses in Murphys lit up the town pink with lights in honor of October being National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to remember those living with breast cancer, their family and friends who provide them with love and support, and to everyone that has been touched by the disease. The Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Foundation is spreading the word that early detection of breast cancer followed by prompt treatment saves lives....

4th Annual Children's Benefit Golf Tournament This Saturday at Forest Meadows!

Calaveras County, CA....The 4th Annual Children's Benefit Golf Tournament will take place at Forest Meadows Golf Course on September 27, 2008 at 1pm. HRC Santa's Express is a nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to serve disadvantaged families in Calaveras County at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We had the pleasure to sit down with the developers last week and were impressed with what they would like to accomplish. Bear Valley Draft EIR is Ready for Public Viewing

Bear Valley, CA...The Draft Environmental impact report for the New Village at Bear Valley is now ready for your viewing pleasure. There will be a public meeting and scoping session on October 18th at 10am in The Bear Valley Lodge. This document has been over two years in the making. The Village Draft EIR is different from the Forest Service EAR with will cover improvements to the Bear Valley Mountain Resort area. The final EAR should be released any day now and may even allow the Resort to open additional terrain for this season. The Draft EIR will cover the New Village Construction...
