Angels Camp, CA...We had the pleasure of kicking off our Supervisor Candidate Interview series with one of the Supervisors with the longest tenures of any supervisor in the State, Supervisor Tom Tryon. Tryon has been serving Calaveras County since the early 1980s. He started off on the Planning Commission and then was elected by one vote in a squeaker against one of his friends, Tony Tyrell. Our interview covers a wide range of subjects & directions. The Tryon Family has roots that go back generations in Calaveras County. They still run a large working cattle ranch..

City of Angels Camp City Council Will Be Busy Bee's on Tuesday |

The Angels Camp City Council will be busy bee's on Tuesday, March 18th. First they will meet at 2:30pm at the Board of Supervisor's Chambers for a Study Session. This will be a Presentation/Discussion with the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce on Economic Development. They will then adjourn and meet up again at the Fire House in Angels Camp for their regular meeting at 6pm where they will discuss RESOLUTION NO. 08-10 OPPOSING THE ADDITION OF TWO NEW SEATS ON THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION (LAFCO). APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 08-10. A RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION OF ADDING TWO ADDITIONAL SEATS ON LAFCO; UPDATE ON NEW MELONES FEES. The full agenda is enclosed for your viewing pleasure..... |

San Andreas, CA…. It's been told that swimming is a wimpy sport, but I don't see it. They don't get timeouts in the middle of a race, they can't stop and catch their breath, they can't roll on their stomachs and lie there, and they can't ask for a substitution. It’s more of an endurance and mind focusing sport. For the past four in a half weeks the Bret Harte High School swim team has been practicing their endurance at The Right of Passage east of San Andreas. The construction of the swimming pool at Calaveras High has made it extremely difficult for Bret Harte to even have a team due to “NO” pool facilities…..

Angels Camp, CA...Last night, the Bret Harte Football team were presented with their well deserved awards at their Awards Dinner. Awards were given to the Forsh and JV team then the Varsity. Vern Johnson of the Media Department of Bret Harte made a Highlight Film/DVD that was played for the families, on the past football season. He did an excellent job on this. Each coach described highlights of each player speaking how each were a contributing factor to the team's success. Some of the individual stats and.....
