Suzanne Friedman Named Irish Day Parade Grand Marshal

Murphys, CA...Suzanne Friedman, who lists among her many Mother Lode responsibilities serving as President of the Murphys Community Club, will be riding in a green convertible as Grand Marshal of this year’s Murphys Irish Day Parade when it makes its way down Main Street on Saturday, March 21, promptly at 11 a.m. “One of the many joys we get in putting on the parade is the privilege of selecting the Grand Marshal,” states Gerry Nelson, who along with his wife Carrie are the parade coordinators. “We always look for someone who has made a significant contribution to our area. Having served with Sue on the Community Club board I know first hand how tirelessly she works to help make this the remarkable town it is.”

Murphys, CA...Murphys Irish Day, an annual event that always attracts thousands of people from throughout northern California, will be presented by the Murphys Business Association on Saturday March 21. The celebration pays tribute to the town’s Celtic heritage and is always held on the third Saturday in March in honor of the patron saint of Ireland. The day will begin with a hearty pancake breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Congregational Church on the corner of Church and Algiers Streets. The menu includes ham, eggs, pancakes, juice and coffee. The price is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 10. To-go orders will be available...
