Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras Visitors Bureau (CVB) is running an all-inclusive, VIP, behind-the-scenes sweepstakes to the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. Their signature event, and one of California’s longest running attractions dating back to 1893, the weekend blends classic Americana events like Rodeo, Carnival and Demolition Derby with something unique to Calaveras County – a bullfrog jumping contest. From Mark Twain’s famous tale, “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County” comes the annual competition that draws people from around the world and has become part of California Gold Country lore...

Copper Concerts Series Returns to Copperopolis Town Square Outdoor Performances Showcased Every Saturday Night in September |

Copperopolis, CA...Copperopolis Town Square – the events, shopping and entertainment gathering place in Calaveras County – will host the Copper Concerts series beginning Sept. 5th and continuing every Saturday through Sept. 26th. Performances will take place at 7 p.m. near the intersection of Town Square Road and Little John Road. Admission to each concert is free.

Kayton, a Calaveras native, New York City resident, and professional theatre artist plans to meld artists from different locations, backgrounds, and skills for this upcoming production of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. Using Shakespeare’s delightful language she hopes to bring the essence of collaborative art to the forefront and present this peculiar comedic love story on the picturesque performance space at Brice Station Vineyards....
