Bret Harte to Celebrate their 2019 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Class

Angels Camp, CA...Bret Harte High School is excited to celebrate 15 individuals and one team as the 2019 induction class in the Bret Harte Athletic Hall of Fame. Induction will take place during “Hall of Fame Weekend” scheduled for Friday, October 4 and Saturday, October 5, 2019. Inductees will be introduced at the home football game before varsity takes on Amador High School on Friday, October 4. Inductees will be honored at the annual Induction Ceremony the evening of Saturday, October 5 at Mark Twain Hall, Calaveras County Fairgrounds.

San Andreas, CA...The 3rd annual Calaveras Wine, Cheese and Olive Festival is back bigger and better than ever hosted at the Metropolitan in San Andreas, CA! Sept 14 starting at 4:00 PM $25 per ticket in advance, $30 at the door if available. Attendee receives a commemorative wine glass and glass holder plate and can taste all the food and wine they wish. There will be 3 live bands inside and out at the Metropolitan Theater in San Andreas. There will be a number of local restaurants there serving free hors d'oeuvres for all attendees. San Andreas, CA...Pink shoes will be parading around Calaveras County prior to and at the Steps to Kick Cancer Luncheon on Oct. 24 at Mark Twain Medical Center. “Pink is the well known signature color for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October,” notes Debbie Sellick, president of the Calaveras Cancer Support Group. “So we figure it’s appropriate to have pink shoes kicking up excitement for this great event.” The luncheon is from 11:30 to 1 p.m. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Yosemite, CA...Yosemite National Park is experiencing high fire danger, along with continued hot and dry weather patterns. Due to the current and predicted fire conditions and fire behavior, the Superintendent of Yosemite National Park will be implementing Stage I fire restrictions until further notice is given.
Mind Matters Clinic Celebrates Successful Fundraising Event!

Murphys, CA...Mind Matters, a non-profit clinic located in Murphys that diagnoses and treats individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and learning disabilities, held its first annual fundraising concert “Music & Minds Matter” on June 22, 2019 at the Twisted Oak Winery in Vallecito. This successful event was well attended and raised over $10,000 to support the important work done at the clinic.
