Forest Service Extends Closure of Most Developed Recreation Sites on Stanislaus National Forest Through June 15 |

Sonora, CA...The Stanislaus National Forest announced that most developed recreation sites will remain closed through June 15, 2020. The local forest order STF-16-2020-07 is scheduled to expire May 31. The new forest order, STF-16-2020-09, is effective from June 1, 2020 through June 15. A copy of the forest order will be posted on the Stanislaus National Forest web page as soon as it is available.

Arnold, CA...The Moose Lodge Free Lunch Program was started on March 23, 2020. The Co-Chairman, Patti Corcoran & Scott Freier, had a vision to offer a free lunch to our community which included a sandwich, fruit, potato chips and a dessert. They hoped to fill the void for anyone having a difficult time due to being out of work due to Covid-19. Lunches have been picked up at the Moose Lodge or we had drivers deliver to those who could not get out of their house.

Sacramento, CA...Today, the Education Coalition, comprised of the nine statewide K-12 education associations that work closely to advocate for the six million students in California’s public schools and colleges, urged California’s lawmakers to adopt a funding solution to the COVID-19-related budget crisis in the June budget. The group said that without adequate funding, schools cannot open on time safely.

Bear Valley, CA...Our store is now open daily from 9am - 5pm with essential items such as gas, food, and adventure supplies. Plus, our "Bear B-Que" is serving burgers and hotdogs with scenic outdoor seating from 11am - 3pm each Friday through Sunday. COVID-19 is delaying Forest Service road and campground openings.
