San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras 4-H Youth Development Program would like to thank Black Oak Casino for their generous donation of $280. Their financial support will truly help our 4-H members in the form of 4-H enrollment scholarships. More importantly, their generous contribution has sent a clear message. They care about today's youth and support their future goals and aspirations. We would like to thank Black Oak also, for believing in our 4-H members.

The program interviews public officials and experts to discuss current issues. Angels Camp, CA...On June 9th, 2015, at approximately 1345 hours, Calaveras County advised they were in pursuit of a the Subject Vehicle (S/V), a white Toyota Sienna, westbound on SR-12 at Central Hill Road. The S/V had been reported as a stolen motor vehicle stolen in Angels Camp out of a car jacking. Due to the Party 1's (P-1) (Taormina) reckless driving behavior, the Calaveras County Sheriff's Deputies were unable to safely keep up with the S/V and lost sight of the vehicle near Burson Road. P-1 continued to drive at a high rate of speed estimated at approximately 90 miles per hour as he entered the town of Wallace. P-1 entered a left hand curve in the roadway and due to his speed he was unable to negotiate the curve. S/V traveled off the north side of the roadway where it struck a two utility poles, four Blue Aptos pine trees, and two oleander trees...
2015 Career & Technical Training (C&TT) Scholarships Awarded

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) awarded Career and Technical Training scholarships to a total of six high school students during recent award night events. Three Calaveras High School students, two Bret Harte High students and one student from Mountain Oaks will each receive $1,500.

San Andreas, CA...Graveside Services for Wilbert Duguay, former Vol Fire Chief, San Andreas -Saturday June 13th, 10 am Peoples Cemetery, Processional from San Andreas Mortuary 9:30 am - Led by San Andreas Volunteer Fire Dept & local VFW Post. Wilbert Duguay was born on November 28, 1930 and died at home in San Andreas on June 1st due to Heart failure.
