Copperopolis, CA...Last Thursday Copperopolis Town Square and Rovedatti's Bar & Grill played host for the June Chamber of Commerce Mixer. Live music, great food, ice cream and more kept the mood festive and those business cards flying between attendees. There were also ribbon cuttings for the three latest additions at Copperopolis Town Square. Yummy Ha! Ha! Ice Cream, The Learning Center & What You Seek Boutique were welcomed with speeches, giant scissors & red ribbon.

San Andreas, CA...After a series of meetings with Ford Construction, the Calaveras County Water District has withdrawn its appeal of a proposed asphalt batch plant along the Calaveras River at Ford’s gravel quarry in Rancho Calaveras. The withdrawal comes after a written agreement between the construction company and CCWD was signed on Tuesday, June 23, which satisfies the concerns CCWD had over potential impacts the plant would have on water quality.
Sacramento, CA...California vehicle thefts decreased in 2014 by almost 7 percent from 2013. This marks the second year in a row that vehicle thefts have declined, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports. In 2012, 174,457 vehicles were stolen in California, which was an 11.26 percent increase from 2011. Vehicle thefts decreased by 2 percent in 2013, to 171,036. Thefts continued to decrease in 2014, dropping to 159,271, a decrease of 6.9 percent from 2013.
