Arnold, CA....Things are getting back to a winter normal today on the mountain highways. Hwy 88 has reopened and Chains or 4wd will be needed to get to any of our local ski resorts.

Sacramento, CA...The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the mountains and a flood warning for lower elevations. An active next several days ahead with snowfall in the forecast through at least Friday. A major winter storm will arrive later today and continue into Thursday. Unlike previous systems, snow levels will rise several thousand feet tomorrow (possibly reaching 7000-8000 feet by the afternoon). Here are the latest thoughts for those traveling to the mountains.
PG&E Grid Straining with Next Storm Wave as 1,690 Without Power

Arnold, CA....Just as the hard working PG&E crews had everything patched back up after the last storm another one is making its way into our area. The winds from the leading edge have knocked the power our for 1690 at this time. The bulk of the outages are in Amador & Calaveras. Tuolumne has a few isolated outages but no large outage blocks.
Arnold, CA...PG&E's power grid is experiencing widespread outages this morning with over 10,000 customers without power. The Hwy 4 corridor has outages from Angels Camp to Big Trees. There are also numerous outages in Tuolumne & Amador Counties. At this time though the largest number of outages are in Calaveras. Ironically Tuolumne & Amador experienced larger outages in the last storm so it seems to be our turn this time...
Inmate Who Walked Away from Minimum-Support Facility at Mule Creek State Prison Apprehended

Ione, CA...A minimum-security inmate who walked away from Mule Creek State Prison on February 7 was apprehended this evening in the Merced area. At around 10:05 p.m., inmate Zechariah Lee was taken into custody by the Merced County Sheriff’s Department, the Merced Police Department, and CDCR’s Office of Correctional Safety, Special Service Unit agents at a gas station. Lee initially attempted to flee, but was quickly arrested.

Inmate Walks Away from Minimum-Support Facility at Mule Creek State Prison

Ione, CA...California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) officials are looking for a state prison inmate who walked away from the minimum-support facility at Mule Creek State Prison on February 7, 2019. Inmate Zechariah Lee was found missing at 9:24 p.m. after an inmate count. On-duty staff immediately began searching the surrounding areas. Notification was made to local law enforcement agencies and CDCR’s Office of Correctional Safety.
