Amador, CA... Upcoming COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics: March 23 & March 25, 2021 at Health & Human Services and March 24, 2021 at Terra d'Oro Winery in Shenandoah Valley. Eligibility for these clinics include Amador residents 65 years & older, Amador residents with chronic health conditions (age 18 & over), grocery store workers, agriculture workers, restaurant and food service workers, health care workers, first responders, emergency workers, educators, and community outreach workers, childcare providers and caregivers.

PG&E to Contribute $1.25 Million to Nonprofits Supporting COVID-19 Response |

San Francisco, CA... Yesterday, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) announced it will contribute $1.25 million in 2021 to nonprofit organizations assisting vulnerable individuals, families and communities, as well as small businesses, as they cope with the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Contributions will support nonprofits focused on food insecurity, support for minority- and women-owned small businesses, general community relief, utility bill assistance, and youth programming. PG&E’s continuing support for the customers and communities it serves builds on the $1 million in funding provided to nonprofits supporting COVID-19 relief in 2020 from PG&E and The PG&E Corporation Foundation.

Governor Gavin Newsom and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond announced last Thursday of a partnership between the California COVID-19 Testing Task Force and the California Department of Education to deploy up to 3 million rapid COVID-19 antigen tests at no cost to support the safe return to in-person learning for staff and students in some of California’s most disadvantaged school districts.

Governor Newsom Signs Legislation to Ensure Access to Supplemental Paid Sick Leave for Workers Impacted by the Pandemic |

Sacramento, CA... Building on the state’s action to expand paid sick days protections for California’s workforce during the pandemic, Governor Gavin Newsom today signed SB 95, legislation to ensure access to up to 80 hours of COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave for eligible employees, including those advised to quarantine or isolate and those caring for COVID-impacted family members.

Angels Camp, CA...It is not everyday you get a parade, live music & more on your birthday but yesterday was no ordinary birthday for King McPherson. You see, King was born on March 17th, 1917 in Los Angeles. He is 104 and sharp as a tack. (We even heard a rumour he has a new girlfriend). If your attributes of the ideal man include caring for his community and community service Kimg is your man. The Angels-Murphys Rotarian and Sgt of Arms joined Rotary in 1943 and until Covid he went 78 years without ever missing a meeting. Yes that's right he went longer than most people's entire life span without missing a meeting. That by itself deserves a parade.

Historically, many disguised themselves by dressing as men, leaving behind their homes and families to pledge their lives and allegiance to this nation. Women sacrificed so much to serve their country, yet far too often, they have done so without the recognition and gratitude they deserve.
