Murphys, CA...Competitive runners, and people who just enjoy a stroll in the verdant countryside, are invited to take part in the 7th annual Off the Beaten Path on Saturday, April 28 in Murphys Community Park. The money raised will go to support Mind Matters, the Murphys based non-profit clinic that treats autism and other learning disorders.

London, UK...Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.

Joel Metzger brought the audience up to speed on the upcoming CCWD rate increases & the Calaveras Visitors Bureau's Lisa Boulton told of the joys of promoting tourism in our area and also about the potential future of a TOT tax increase.

Jackson, CA...Amador FlyFishers (AFF) will be hosting a free Fly Fishing Faire Sunday, April 22, from 10am to 2pm at Detert Park, 530 Highway 49, Jackson, California. There will be booths with club members demonstrating the use of the tools of the sport and answering questions to help attendees learn more about the wonderful sport of flyfishing. There will also be hands-on activities. Most importantly, AFF will be highlighting its Youth Program which targets junior high and high school age kids and provides good hands-on flyfishing classes.

Arnold, CA...Dyemusica has been bringing original jam and reggae music to the motherlode since 2012. They have decided to disband due to health issues and as Kevin is leaving the state. Dyemusica are ardent supporters of local charities, have made original music and made many friends and they'd love for everyone to come out one last time to celebrate thier catalog of music and say goodbye to a Gold Country standard as they want to thank everyone for all the fun and memories!
