You can bring a cooler with food and non alcoholic beverages only. Low back chairs and blankets are recommended $10 admission fee at the gate. Angels Camp, CA...O.A.R.S.’ six-day Salmon River Rafting trip in Idaho has been declared the year’s “Best Guided Outdoor Trip” by Sunset magazine. n its first-ever Sunset Travel Awards, O.A.R.S. (http://www.oars.com/) was selected as one of 30 winners from a field of nearly 200 entrants who represent the West’s very best in lodging, dining, cultural tourism, outdoor adventure, environmental stewardship, and more. To find the best, Sunset drafted 12 travel experts from across the West to be part of their Travel Awards Advisory Board. “When you think of guided trips, you think of O.A.R.S.” noted one judge.

Copperopolis, CA...California’s historic town of Copperopolis turned 150 years old in 2010. We continue celebrate our unique little town with an annual Homecoming Heritage Celebration and want to invite everyone who loves small town charm to join us. Copperopolis’ Homecoming was started by our founding families for an annual get together. Now everyone is welcome for a celebration fitting a town that saw Black Bart’s first and last stage coach robbery, hosted Mark Twain at a town social, had one of the country’s richest copper mines and a unique family owned Telephone Company (The Tower family). The Tower family will open the doors to their private museum with historical artifacts for all to enjoy. A traditional country style pancake breakfast will be the first event of the day held at the Armory. Vendors will be selling their wares in the Armory under a canopy of beautiful handmade quilts from the Copper Quilters as you are entertained by a unique professional ukulele orchestra. Our “Locally World Famous” Homecoming Heritage Parade will feature an array of colorful characters, gunfighters, saddle queens, citizens, politicians and animals all both tame and wild. Family fun, BBQ and Parade Awards will follow at Copper Fire Station 1 on Main Street (O’Byrnes Ferry Rd.) across from the Post Office.

Copperopolis, CA...Please join your neighbors for a free evening of contemporary bluegrass music at Copperopolis Town Square on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. The award-winning Sammy Leverone (vocals and guitar) joined forces in 2014 with Scott Leverone (drums), Fred Treece (guitar, dobro, and vocals), Ron Schaner (acoustic guitar), and Tonya Peterson (vocals) to form the Sammy Leverone Band. The Calaveras Arts Council brings you this talented local band as part of its free and family-friendly Music in the Park series. The Sammy Leverone Band will perform its down-home blend of Americana, Blues, and Country tunes from 6:30-8:00 p.m., and folks are encouraged to bring their own low chairs, blankets, and picnic provisions to complete this "hump day" celebration.

Murphys, CA...Shakespeare returns to Theater Under The Stars! What do a jealous husband, a beautiful princess, a thief, a statue of a queen and a bear all have in common? Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale of course – this summer with Murphys Creek Theatre's Theater Under The Stars. Starting June 19th, shows run at 8pm Friday and Saturday nights through July 18th. This year the stars shine on Feeney Park Amphitheatre, 260 Pennsylvania Gulch Road – just off of Highway 4 in Murphys. “The location is perfect- lots of close parking, easy access, full amenities” says Artistic Director Graham Green. “The stage is framed by this gorgeous oak, and the location couldn't be more convenient.”
