The wine was styled in a big, bold way like nobody else could do. That's what makes us Black Sheep; we're different from the rest of the flock. We feature small batches of limited release wines handcrafted from high quality grapes grown in Calaveras and Amador Counties. We produce about 2,500 cases of wine per year, specializing in Zinfandels and Rhone varietals.

Breast Cancer Survivor Debbie Sellick Diagnosed at 41, Raising Awareness Ever Since |

San Andreas, CA...Fifteen years ago Debbie Sellick had her first mammogram at the age of 41 – it revealed nearly Stage 3 breast cancer. Since then, she has dedicated herself to educating the community about the disease that almost killed her. She is one of the survivors playing a key role in the Oct. 24 Steps to Kick Cancer Awareness Luncheon hosted by Mark Twain Medical Center. The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in a tented pavilion set up at MTMC for the occasion. Featured speaker is 10-year breast cancer survivor Tina Macuha, popular Sacramento television personality who is anchor of “Good Day Sacramento” on CW-13. The MTMC Care Team will also be highlighted. Debbie explains, “We are raising awareness about breast cancer, the importance of annual mammograms and the advanced local resources available to fight – and survive – this disease.”

Arnold, CA...The 24th annual Logging Jamboree is August 31st 9:00 to 5:00 at 2148 Dunbar Rd. White Pines. Benefit Sierra Nevada Logging Museum. Prizes, BBQ by Moose, Silent Auction, Kids Games. This wonderful annual Labor Day Weekend jamboree has something for adults and children. The Arnold Rim Trail Association will once again have a booth at the Jamboree, as will our friends from the Calaveras District of the Forest Service. Located in White Pines. Delicious food and beer, wine and soft drinks will be available. Raffle with cool prizes.

Vallecito, CA...Ms. Brown will share her family’s story and her efforts to learn more about her family’s roots and the Vallecito area. Her grandmother, Alice M. Cuneo, was descended from the Giovanni Batiste Cuneo family, early settlers who built the Cuneo Building in Vallecito in 1851. In a recent interview she commented: “Just imagine the miners and the people who came to shop at the store which offered an unbelievable range of everything from picks and shovels to vermicelli and champagne!”
