Sunny Weather Just in Time For Fair!

Frogtown, CA....Looks like blue skies and sunny weather is forecast just in time for the Fair......Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. East northeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming southwest.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 76.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 79.

Angels Camp, CA...Even though the high country had a few inches of snow last night it looks like spring is finally here for good. Sun is on the way according to the National Weather Service. Highs near 80 are on tap for the weekend. So the snow we had overnight may be the last we see for awhile. Bring on the Frogs!! The forecast is enclosed....

Angels Camp, CA....On May 6, 2010 at approximately 2300 hours Angels Camp Police Officers made a vehicle stop on Dogtown Rd for minor vehicle code violations. While speaking with the driver of the vehicle officers observed signs of intoxication. The driver Jeremy James Roque, 38 of Railroad Flat was arrested for driving under the influence and possession of narcotic paraphernalia......

Bret Harte Academics Renaissance Program Hosting English & Language Arts Competition on May 19th

The Bret Harte High School Academic Renaissance program is hosting an English and Language Arts Competition on May 19th. Five scholars will compete for a $300 scholarship and $100 in cash to be awarded at each grade level. Questions will cover a range of topics including literature analysis, grammar, literary history, poetry, and more. Students will qualify for the competition through their English classes....

Carey Steffee, Angels Camp resident, has joined thousands of breast cancer supporters in preparing for the 2010 Susan G. Komen San Francisco 3-Day for the CureTM, presented by Energizer. After months of training and fundraising, participants will walk 60 miles during three days to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and community-based breast health and education programs.....

Angels Camp, CA.....Joan is a great hearted "Super Volunteer". If you have kids at Mark Twain elementary you have no doubt seen Joan at the school doing something while you have been there. With her serving heart this year alone Joan has ran all of the concessions at the school, the kindness cash store,has done many fund-raisers and helped at "hoot n annie" (the weekly kids program at the school). There is probably not much that Joan hasn't done in her 44 year involvement with Mark Twain. She started her stint with the school when her eldest daughter Debbie enrolled in kindergarten in 1966. During that time she has worn many different hats including a board member for the school for 22 years. Joan .....

Angels Camp, CA....Four of the 25th Assembly Candidates tee shots, chips and putts in the Fireside Room at Greenhorn Creek. The Assembly race drew a talented and seasoned group of candidates. Not only would the District be well represented by any of the contestants Modesto's Bill Conrad told us that it was one of the best group of candidates he has seen. On hand last night were Tuolumne County Supervisor and Candidate Teri Murrison, Kurt Vander Weide, Kristin Olsen and the aforementioned Bill Conrad. The Republicans of Ebbetts Pass organized and moderated the event. We have video of most of the evening starting with the Candidates opening statements..

The Council wishes to thank Scott for his seven years of service and leadership of the fire service in our City. Deputy Fire Chief Greg Petersen will assume direction of the Angels Camp Fire Department effective Thursday, May 6, 2010.
