Posted by: thepinetree on 04/21/2008 12:24 PM

They were strongly challenged for taking this new position and we did have some limited success in softening the impact. Where the mitigation since 1992 was to pave the driveway, that is no longer the rule of the land....

Take The Bite Out of Mosquito Season

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 04/18/2008 10:04 AM
Spring has arrived in California which means the start of the West Nile virus season. Prevention of mosquito breeding and personal protection from mosquito bites are the two most important actions community members can take to prevent infection. To date in 2008, there are five counties in California with West Nile Virus activity (Sacramento, Kern, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego). A total of nine birds have tested positive for the virus. The virus has recently been detected in one mosquito pool and one sentinel chicken flock in California. There are no horse, squirrel, or human cases in the State at this time.....

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 04/15/2008 08:41 AM
Alpine County, CA....There are two candidates running for the position of Alpine County Superior Court Judge in the June election, Karen Dustman and David DeVore. Here are partial statements from each. Karen Dustman: "My name is Karen Dustman and I am running for Superior Court Judge of Alpine County. As you've probably heard, Alpine's presiding judge, Richard Specchio openly endorses me. That courageous endorsement alone speaks volumes. But there's more: former presiding Judge, Harold Bradford, the man who presided over Alpine's court with dignity for 12 years, also endorses me. Ask yourself, why the very judges who knows a sitting judge best would endorse his opponent. Both judges' open letter to the community are at www.karendustman.com.....
