Arnold, CA...Another almost perfect summer weather week awaits for us ahead. We have all heard the stories about those fleeing California for "greener pastures" elsewhere. For some of us it has even been family members. However summer weather like this reminds us that the physical place of California is just about as good as it gets. The administrations in Sacramento will come and go and thankfully they haven't yet destroyed our weather or the beautiful vistas outside our doors. Since the 1849 and the Gold Rush began California was the place where dreams were made. With work maybe it can be again...

Arnold, CA...The Heat Warnings & Forecasts for our area is below. Detailed forecast for West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada. Today, Sunny. Highs 65 to 80 higher elevations...76 to 86 lower elevations. Prevailing southeast winds up to 10 mph shifting to the southwest in the afternoon.

Arnold, CA...An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for lower elevations from 11am Friday to 11pm on Sunday. Typically in our area you will see a 20 - 25 degree temperature difference from the high country to the Hwy 49 corridor.

Phillips Station, CA...The Department of Water Resources (DWR) today conducted the fourth snow survey of the season at Phillips Station. The manual survey recorded 126.5 inches of snow depth and a snow water equivalent of 54 inches, which is 221 percent of average for this location on April 3. The snow water equivalent measures the amount of water contained in the snowpack and is a key component of DWR’s water supply forecast. DWR’s electronic readings from 130 snow sensors placed throughout the state indicate the statewide snowpack’s snow water equivalent is 61.1 inches, or 237 percent of average for this date.

Arnold, CA...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 feet. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph. From 11 PM Monday to 8 PM PDT Wednesday. Snow levels 3000 to 4000 feet, locally down to 2500 feet Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Heaviest snow amounts above 4000 feet.

Arnold, CA...The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until March 24 at 5am. Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches & Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. Snow level down to 3,500 feet & then clearing into the weekend.
