Angels Camp- Update....Sierra Quitiquit, neice of local luminary Tina Quitiquit is attending the Central Sierra Premier of the Warren Miller ski movie, Ticket to Ride in Angels Camp. The Angels Murphys Arnold Boosters Club Snowsports program presents Warren Miller's Ticket to Ride- the screening of a ski movie that supports local kids’ participation in winter sports teams and school snow experience programs. Warren Miller Athlete Sierra Quitiquit to attend movie premier and sign autographs. Get ready to celebrate winter with Warren Miller’s Ticket to Ride. The newest chapter in the legendary film series, Ticket to Ride will take filmgoers on an action-packed journey with the world’s best skiers and snowboarders. This year’s movie features Sierra Quitiquit, the neice of local luminarie Tina Quitiquit who grew up skiing at Bear Valley...

Prevailing southeast winds up to 10 mph shifting to the southwest in the afternoon. Gusts up to 30 mph. Over ridges...prevailing southwest winds 10 to 20 mph increasing to 15 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Tonight: A chance of snow in the evening...then snow after midnight. San Andreas, CA...Severe weather can be both frightening and dangerous for automobile travel. Motorists should know the safety rules for dealing with winter road emergencies. The Calaveras County Public Works Department reminds motorists to be cautious while driving in adverse weather. Calaveras County Public Works recommends the following winter driving tips: Avoid driving while you’re fatigued. Getting the proper amount of rest before taking on winter weather tasks reduces driving risks. Never warm up a vehicle in an enclosed area, such as a garage. Make certain your tires are properly inflated. Keep your gas tank at least half full to avoid gas line freeze-up. Do not use cruise control when driving on any slippery surface (wet, ice, sand). Always look and steer where you want to go. Use your seat belt every time you get into your vehicle. Carry a survival kit containing blankets or sleeping bag, water, small shovel and a flashlight in case of vehicle breakdown or becoming stuck in the snow...

Avery, CA...Beatrice (Bea) Frisk Miller was born January 17th, 1921 in Mountain Grove, Mo. to Harry E Frisk and Mary Gosvener Frisk. She was the second oldest of eleven brothers and sisters. She married April 7th 1939 to Roy Patrick Miller in Oakdale, CA. After marriage, the couple had two sons Gene Miller and Vernon Miller. Bea passed away on November 28th, 2013 at her home in Avery, California surrounded by her loving family members. Bea is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Roy Patrick Miller, sisters Hazel Avis Frisk and Berniece Smith, brothers Harry (Gene) Frisk and Charles (Merle) Frisk....
White Pines, CA...This is the fifth in a series of news to the community from the Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge. As a forty year member of this greater Arnold Area, we enjoy the support we receive from all of the residents.
