Posted by: thepinetree on 08/05/2009 08:50 AM
|
White Pines, CA...Yesterday we had the pleasure to interview Calaveras County Water District Director candidate Dan Emerson. He and members of his family through K.W.Emerson donated the majority of the work on the Logging Museum's newly completed driveway (We will be doing a separate piece on this). Dan and his family have been fixtures in this county since the 1950's. Through their Construction firm they have contributed to many projects and organizations over the years. Dan would like to bring his engineering contracting background to the CCWD Board. He and his wife have raised their children here and reside in Avery. We will be adding his Candidate's Statement to this article when we receive it shortly...

Letter to the Editor~by Ed Rich in Response to Letter from Jeff Davidson, Letter Enclosed As Well |
Posted by: thepinetree on 08/04/2009 11:05 AM
|
August 3, 2009
"Thank you Director Davidson,
I was in the grocery store last evening and a shopper saw my campaign button and said, “Did you see the letter to the editor in the Calaveras Enterprise attacking you”? I didn’t, so while at the checkout stand I purchased a paper, then went home and drafted a lengthy response about the half truths and personal attacks that Director Davidson is well known for. The events leading to the decision to dismiss the General Manager (GM) were neither “abrupt” nor a surprise to any director that would listen. Proper procedure was followed and this letter is intended to clarify what is going on at the CCWD.... |

"Open letter to Diane Gray....Before I begin I want you to know that what I will be writing is not meant to be personal as it is not in my nature to carryout personal attacks. Yes I am the first to admit that I am very assertive in a positive manner and hopefully factual in my comments. Commenting on your statement that was in “Copperopolis Today” I would like to give you some background as to why I honestly feel compelled to make several comments.....

"Davidson’s polemic and my response"~by Bob Dean |
Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 07/29/2009 05:43 PM

"How do you clean up a train wreck? By “train wreck” I mean ThePinetree.net tirade CCWD director Jeff Davidson represented as an editorial. I had to read it several times to sort out the many threads of confused thoughts that were woven through the paragraphs of vitriol. In many places it is difficult for the reader to separate opinion from fact, from anger and from conjecture. Leaving the reader hanging on points that were never addressed (and can never legally be addressed because of confidentiality issues) begs the question: why bring it up in the first place? Perhaps it was for dramatic effect. Perhaps it was for impact. After all, if you want to be.....

Recent Firing of CCWD GM David Andres Was a Huge Mistake ~Editorial by CCWD Director Jeff Davidson |
Posted by: thepinetree on 07/27/2009 07:45 PM
|
San Andreas, CA...The recent firing of CCWD GM David Andres was indeed a huge mistake by the three directors who voted yes. It was a mistake for several reasons and I, like director Underhill want rate and tax payers to know what it cost and how it happened. Dave Andres was told he would be fired before either myself or director Underhill knew it was being discussed. CCWD like any other Special District is bound by law to conduct its self in accordance with the Ralph M Brown Act. The Open Meeting Laws were clearly broken here...
