Lumberjack Day - 40th Anniversary |

West Point, CA...Lumberjack Day.....takes place on the first Saturday in October and celebrates the history and traditions of the Calaveras County lumber industry. It includes a parade and car show, vendors, lumberjack competitions including big timbers, chainsaws and axes!, activities for the kids and food and fun for the whole family!

Murphys, CA....Closing out its 20th anniversary year, Murphys Creek Theatre is proud to announce Rocky Horror Show: A Benefit Concert on October 31st, 2014 at 8 pm and midnight, and November 1st at 8 pm. Then, November 21th through December 21 we will end our season with Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol....

Murphys, CA...Tennis players from throughout the Motherlode are invited to sign up for the Murphys Area Community Tennis Association (MACTA) Mixed Doubles Tournament to be held Saturday, October 18 at Bret Harte High School, in Angels Camp, and MACTA’s Wintercreek Facility located behind the historic schoolhouse on Jones St. in Murphys. San Andreas, CA...It's Saturday, Oct. 25, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the San Andreas Main Library, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas. Entrance fee is $1 per person. Come share the enjoyment of a well-told scary story! Storytellers are BZ Smith from Sonora and Jean Ellison from the Bay Area. Stage 1 will have scary stories for children 5 and up; Stage 2 will have terrifying tales for teens and adults. There will be a costume contest so ....

Murphys, CA....Yesterday's 18th Annual Ironstone Concours d' Elegance was the largest ever. Ironstone President Steven Kautz let us know that the Ironstone Show is now the largest Concours d' Elegance in the country. With 372 entries the manicured Ironstone Vineyards grounds were a sensory feast for the eyes and ears for fans of rolling art. Best of Show went to Larry & Susan's Nannini's stunning 34 Packard Phaeton. Most Elegant Open Car Went To Leon Garoyan Davis and his 1947 Bentley VI Convertible. Most Elegant Closed Car honors went to Stockton's Tome & Terry Machado and their 1967 Lincoln Continental Limo. We try every year to get at least one shot of every entrant and multiple photos of the award winners. This year's photo album has over 700 photos. We also have video this year in regular and HD revolutions....
