They talk about their everyday lives in Ukraine before February 24, 2022 and how their lives changed so quickly after that first day of the Russian invasion. Their firsthand experience will give you a fresh perspective on the realities of the invasion including the plight of the Ukrainian people who still fight to keep their country, and the indomitable spirit of those who have left with the hope of returning.

Bret Harte FFA Kicks off Their 50th year by Honoring Local Community Members ~ Afton Phillips

Angels Camp, CA...On May 4, 1973 the Bret Harte FFA was awarded their official FFA charter thus making this year their 50th year anniversary. In celebrating this achievement, the FFA chapter would like to honor their past, celebrate the present and motivate future FFA members. This year's theme is “Building a Golden Foundation” and our first order of business was to acknowledge the contributions of two key community members. On May 23rd, the Bret Harte FFA sent forth a resolution to the school board to name the two agriculture properties after Mr. Roy C. Beck and Mr. Darrin Mills. The Bret Harte Union High School District adopted the resolution with a unanimous vote.
California State Parks Awards $46 Million in Grants Including $3 Million for Utica Park Expansion

Angels Camp, CA...California State Parks announced a $46.2 million investment to build healthier communities by creating and improving recreational facilities in 25 local parks. The City of Angels will receive $3,000,000 to acquire 3.82 acres to expand and improve Utica Park by constructing new amphitheater, interpretive hiking trail and parcourse, Mark Twain Statue, trailhead kiosk, pavilion, bocce courts, outdoor gym equipment, basketball court, playground, and restrooms.
