Ebbetts Pass Forest Watch and Newsome Harlow Tasting Room Host The Sierra Nevada Film Festival April 19 |

Murphys, CA ... The Sierra Nevada Film Festival celebrates its tenth year with a free film screening of "Tell It on the Mountain–Stories of the Pacific Crest Trail" at the Harlow Tasting Room on Saturday, April 19. 2014. Doors open 7pm for wine tasting. The film screens at sundown in the courtyard. The Newsome Harlow Tasting Room is located at 403 Main Street, Murphys CA. Admission is free. "Tell It on the Mountain–Stories of the Pacific Crest Trail" is part adventure film, part documentary, and part video journal. It follows a diverse cast of characters as they undertake a life-changing journey along the Pacific Crest Trail, a string of trails running from the US-Mexico border, through the heart of California, Oregon and Washington, and ending seven miles into Canada. Amador County, CA ...The Amador Student Music Fund announced the April line-up of performances. This Saturday, April 5, features Johnny Winter an American blues guitarist best known for his high-energy blues and rock albums through the 1960's and 1970's. . He takes to the Grand Oak Ballroom Stage, Jackson, CA, at 7 p.m. After signing with Columbia records in 1969, Winter developed his own take on classic blues with a Texan twist. While recording nearly 40 albums and playing himself, Johnny Winter also produced three Grammy Award winning albums for blues legend Muddy Waters. Those albums served as Muddy Waters' comeback into the music scene....

Columbia, CA ...Columbia State Historic Park will once again host the Victorian Easter Celebration Sunday, April 20. Dress up in your Easter finery and be a part of Columbia’s Victorian Easter Parade, a promenade on Main Street. Kids and pets welcome! Prizes will be awarded for fanciest Victorian hat, and best dressed couple, lasses and lads, groups, and pets. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Fallon Hotel, and the parade gets underway at 12:30 p.m. Egg Hunts beginning at 12:00 p.m.There is no cost to enter.

Frogtown CA ... Heather Appling has been singing and performing her whole life, her experience is varied from singing at Carnegie Hall, private events, studio recording and now serving as a worship leader in the Bay Area. As the daughter of two music teachers, Heather grew up with a love for music that helped develop her into the woman she is today. Heather's first Calaveras County Fair singing experience began in 6th grade for the annual Talent Show. As a senior in high school, she won the Miss Calaveras Pageant in 2002. Heather truly loves bringing joy to people through song and she is honored to play at the Calaveras County Fair once again. Heather Lynn will be performing on the lawn stage on Sunday May 18.
