West Point, CA...Music in the Parks presents The Magnolia Rhythm Trio. West Point Elementary School. West Point August 1, 2018, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. No admission fee or cover charge. Bring blankets, low-back chairs, dinner,cool drinks and yourselves. But please no alcohol or smoking; the school is a substance-free zone. The Magnolia Rhythm Trio is an Americana/Folk/Bluegrass based group focusing on tight harmonies. They choose music based on how it touches their hearts.

Yosemite, CA...Mariposa Grove and the Wawona Road remain closed. Limited visitor services will be available. Yosemite National Park announces Yosemite Valley will reopen to all visitors at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 3, 2018. Limited visitor services will be available inside Yosemite Valley, including campgrounds, lodging, and food service operations. Yosemite Valley has been temporarily closed since July 25 due to smoke impacts and for firefighting operations along El Portal Road and the Wawona Road due to the Ferguson Fire.

Murphys, CA...Willie Nelson & Family & Alison Krauss at Ironstone. Willie Nelson needs no introduction and a bit more about Alison Krauss. Windy City, her latest solo album, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums and Top Bluegrass Albums charts and received two Grammy nominations. The album was produced by Buddy Cannon, whose vocal harmonies Krauss grew up listening to and were the soundtrack to her childhood. “Buddy sang harmonies on everything back then,” Krauss says. She also reveals of Cannon, “I don’t do something unless I feel like I’m called to do it. That’s what I felt like, so I honored it. It’s like the same feeling of when you know something is right musically, with a song or a batch of songs – the same feeling, but this was attached to a person instead of a batch of songs.”

Twain Harte, CA...41st Annual Twain Harte Summer Arts & Wine Festival 2018 is July 28th & 29th, 2018, 10am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday. This July, among the tall pines, in the quiet vacation town of Twain Harte, a festival of quality arts, crafts, and performers, will fire up once again! Starting at the Twain Harte arch, on Joaquin Gully, nearly 100 high caliber artists will display and sell their fine wares! This popular event draws over 5000 quality craft purchasers and music lovers. Festival kitchens will serve a wide variety of meals and treats. Restaurants in town will be open as well, and the Vietnam Veterans Chapter will be selling beers near the Twain Harte arch by the stage all weekend.
