Murphys, CA...Well the Irish proved Luck O' the Irish" was more than just a saying as the Murphys Business Association should be patting themselves on the back with their very tired hands. Murphys was Packed today. We walked from end to end on Main Street right after the parade this morning and it was wall to the wall. Many people were only there for a few hours so the entire crowd probably turned a time or two today. The shuttle from Ironstone was doing a brisk business as well. By my very unofficial estimate crowds were well over 10,000 for the day. We took over 1,800 and many of those should never see the light of day but when we have them sorted we should have several hundred for you. Murphys, CA...We are still looking for volunteers to help with our street closures....please let Lucky know if you are able to volunteer yourself, your family, your friends or a distant acquaintance. Bring her a new volunteer and receive a second raffle ticket as well as one for the new volunteer....and both of you can join us next Friday for our Volunteer Thank You party at the Lions Hut on March 22nd at 6 pm....
Murphys, CA...With great weather in the forecast and spring in the air this Saturday's Murphys Irish Day might be a record breaker. The Clovers have been freshly painted and there is a nice green line between the yellows from end to end on Main Street. If you haven't been before now may be your year to celebrate all things Irish and Green in Murphys. Start your day off with a pancake breakfast and get a good spot for the parade. Then wander the town as most of the local businesses will be in a festive mood in addition to all the booths vendors on the street. The town will start livening up on Friday Night so with great snow skiing in the mountains, wine tasting and golf in the foothills and 50,000 Daffodils in bloom at Ironstone Vineyards now is the perfect time to pay us a visit!!!

MURPHY'S, CA - Great fun seeing all the VW's in Murphys this past Sunday! The Mother Lode Volkswagen Club held their 10th Annual "Sonntag Treffen" at the Black Bart Playhouse parking lot in historic downtown Murphys. This FREE event is open to the public with VW enthusiasts bringing out their cars (over 60 VWs were there) to enjoy the fantastic weather and gather with new and old friends to enjoy a Sunday Drive in the Foothills. Besides the hosting VW Club, the other Clubs represented were: NorCal Air Cooled Group from Pleasanton and Sacramento, Better Late Than Never (BLTN) from San Jose, Golden Gate Chapter of the Vintage VW Club of America, Old Volks from Sacramento and Stockton, Iron Cross from Modesto, The Other Guys VW Club from Lodi, and Folkslaggin from Manteca. Club membership isn't a requirement to attend, just a love for the VW...

Angels Camp, CA...Last Monday night CAMPS Restaurant at Greenhorn was as full as you will ever see it. Table after table overflowed with friends, constituents, former colleagues, on had to celebrated an incredible career in public service for Retired Supervisor Tom Tryon. For 7 terms Tom Represented his district and did it well. His greatest pride is seeing what Murphys has developed into. The Libertarian Supervisor saw Murphys as a prime example of creating an environment were capital and investment can thrive with as little restrictions from Government as possible. Tom was not afraid to takes stands on principal and some of his comments from the bench before votes were mini civics lessons. The rancher exterior hid from immediate view the mind that was trained at UC Berkley in Economics....
Angels Camp, CA...The popular Calaveras Follies returned with A Night at the OSCARS, a Hollywood-themed evening replete with the fanfare of a red carpet, limos, paparazzi, celebrity sightings and the Follies’ signature hilarious lip-synched musical revue. This year’s show was performed at the Bret Harte Performing Arts Center and is one of the main fundraisers for the Calaveras Mentoring Program...
