Murphys, CA...Thousands of visitors descended on Murphys for the annual celebration of all things grape in Murphys. The Calaveras Grape Stomp & the accompanying Gold Rush Street Fair were the center of our wine loving universe for the day as team after team took to the barrels and did their best to crush every ounce of juice out of their batch of grapes. This year's stomp field was sold out even before the event got underway.

Tuolumne County Youth to Be Featured at Second Concert of Bach Festival

Columbia, CA...The Sonora Bach Festival, celebrating its 40th year, presents its Youth Finalists Concert, October 9, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. Featuring local performers under the age of 18, the concert will be held at the Church of the 49ers in Columbia. A new and spooky offering at the historic Park, three one-hour evening tours are available on this one-night-only departing at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.

Murphys, CA...(Update...We have had several requests to repost this year's show! I guess it must have slipped down the site before many had the chance to see it) Best of Show at 2016 Concours was a 1931 Duesenberg J Murphy Roadster. The beautiful vehicle is owned by Dairy owners Rob & Jeannie Hilarides from Visalia. Their win was fitting as the Kautz family puts the FFA center stage every year. The 20th Annual Ironstone Concours featured over 300 Classic & Vintage Cars from the early 1900s through the 1940s, 50s & 60s Cruisers & Muscle Cars, as well as Vintage Commercial Vehicles and Motorcycles. All on full display at the Ironstone Amphitheatre and on the grounds of the Ironstone Winery. The very first event we covered for ThePineTree.net was the Ironstone Concours d' Elegance. It always has a special place on the calendar for us and we try to take a picture or two of every entrant in the event. We also have the Awards Ceremony in HD Video. This event showcases the cars and Ironstone Vineyards as the works of art that they are.
