Murphys, CA...Last Saturday Morning Students & Measure K supporters met at Gold Country Coffee in Murphys to prepare their materials before they spread throughout the Bret Harte School District to canvas the neighborhoods drumming up support for the Measure K bond issue. In many ways the upperclassmen that have been working so hard for the passage of Measure K have been performing a community service. The biggest beneficiaries over the long hall will be our kids who have yet to wear the Purple & Gold like the young Measure K Advocates below.
Zachary Deaton, Zoe Deaton, Nicholas Kristoff, Elizabeth Kristoff, Abigail Kristoff, Maggie Kristoff, Jack Roberts, Kate Roberts & Sam Roberts

Central Sierra/Hwy 4 Fishing Report for Week of October 26th, 2008~By Bill Reynolds of Ebbetts Pass Sporting Goods |

Lake Alpine has been producing big beautiful rainbows. The nights are cooler and the water temperature has dropped, and the fish are very active. The ramp is out of the water, so if you have a large boat you won't be able to launch. You will need a pontoon style boat or small aluminum boat. Bait casters should try Gulp Power Bait, Floating Power Eggs, and nightcrawlers. Fly fishermen have doing excellent using Adams, woolly buggers, and caddis flies. Lure casters should try Rapala's, and Kastmasters......

On the Starting Rocks for Measure "K"...Don't Miss the Fab Measure "K" Video Cheer Enclosed |
Posted by: thepinetree on 10/19/2008 12:20 PM

Angels Camp, CA...On Friday afternoon the Bret Harte Swim Team led by their coach Karla St. Louis assembled where they hope a new Pool Complex will be built. A rock pile had to substitute for the starting blocks they plan on standing on soon. Funding for the project hinges on the passage of Measure K which is on the ballot this fall. The swim team would probably benefit more from Measure K than any single entity. The aquatic team is a nomadic one. Their practices take them to the Calaveras Pool and also the Rites of Passage Pool. This has a significant negative impact on the team. The Kids and our community deserve a pool. A regulation pool on this side of the county would be a huge boon not only for the team but also for the entire community...
