San Andreas, CA...March 1, 2019 Deadline to Apply for Community Grants and Sponsorships. All Grant and Sponsorship requests must be submitted in writing on the MTHCD Golden Health Community Grant and Sponsorship Form and must be filled out in accordance with instructions provided. Completed Golden Health Community Grant and Sponsorship Request Forms shall be returned to the District Grants Committee by mail or email within the specified time frame.

MET Team Eradicates an Indoor Grow in Mountain Ranch |

Mountain Ranch, CA...On 1-16-19 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a residence in the 9000 block of Wendell Road, Mountain Ranch. Upon arrival deputies detained the solo occupant of the residence. One of the outbuildings on the property was found to have been converted for indoor marijuana cultivation.

The Mark Twain Health Care District (MTHCD) is a public agency that owns the buildings and grounds of the Mark Twain Medical Center; MTHCD leases the operations of the Medical Center to the Mark Twain Medical Center Corporation, which also operates the five rural health clinics (Family Medical Centers) in Arnold, Angels Camp, Copperopolis, San Andreas, and Valley Springs.

San Andreas, CA...Join us for a day of fun to support arts in education! Please join us on March 17, 2019 for Ride & Walk4Art in the beautiful California foothills in West Calaveras County. Choose from 2 bicycle rides—25-miles or 45-miles—or an easy 4.5-mile walk skirting New Hogan Lake. Afterwards, the Tri-Dam lions will prepare a Chicken-in-a-Barrel lunch. This is the fourth year the Calaveras County Arts Council has held Ride & Walk4Art. Past participants say that this event is the best local bike and walk event, and serves a sensational lunch along with a friendly community atmosphere.

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County has Sand Bags and Sand Available for Residents at 9 Locations. In preparation of the heavy rain and potential flooding predicted for this week the Calaveras County Office of Emergency Services and Public Works Department have stocked the following locations with sand bags and sand. Please limit the number of sand bags to 10 per resident and remember to bring your own shovel.

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) is proud to announce that they have successfully recruited Board Certified Pediatrician Dr. Fatma Haney to the Angels Camp and Arnold Family Medical Centers, where she will care for patients in the Tri-County area. “We are very excited to enhance our Pediatric care services with an additional caring and well respected physician,” commented Larry Philipp, Interim CEO, “Dr. Haney comes from a rural setting and understands the significant value of providing care in an underserved population.
