Central Fire District's Statement on Chief Piccinini |

Mokelumne Hill, CA....On January 24th, 2011 the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office released information that they would not be prosecuting charges against Joseph Piccinini, the former Fire Chief of the Anderson Fire Protection District (AFPD) and the current Fire Chief of Central Calaveras Fire, because the statute of limitations had run out on the charges. In fact, the District Attorneys had previously decided there was a lack of sufficient evidence to pursue charging Mr. Piccinini and has apparently now decided that the statute of limitations excuse is easier to explain...

Calaveras County Search and Rescue (CCSAR) wants you! Our team has about 30 active volunteers ranging in age from 20 to 70 years old. These men and women come from all walks of life (firemen, law enforcement officers, retirees, nurses, white and blue collar workers, etc.), and have varied individual skills. But the common denominator among them all is a love of the outdoors and the desire to help people. .....

Chase of Jackson Man Started in San Andreas Last Night According to CHP Release |

San Andreas, CA...The low speed chase of an elderly Jackson resident started in San Andreas initially for a driving without taillights. It finally concluded without injuries near Tuttletown in Tuolumne County. Original witness reports from last night were that the chase started in the Copperopolis area. Those reports may have stemmed from an accident that happened in the Copper area about that time. The CHP release enclosed from CHP San Andreas PIO Rebecca Myers details the origins of the incident...

Town Hall Meeting regarding the San Andreas Creek on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at the Town Hall, 24 Church Hill Rd, San Andreas. Purpose of the meeting is to discuss the possible benefits of the clean up and environmental restoration of the San Andreas Creek with the ultimate long term goal a pedestrian green-way along the corridor.....
