San Andreas, CA...NOTICE OF PUBLIC AUCTION ON NOVEMBER 10, 2017 OF TAX-DEFAULTED PROPERTY FOR DELINQUENT TAXES Made pursuant to Section 3692, Revenue and Taxation Code. On, August 22, 2017, I, Barbara Sullivan, Calaveras County Tax Collector, was directed to conduct a public auction sale by the Board of Supervisors of Calaveras County, California. The tax-defaulted properties listed below are subject to the Tax Collector’s Power of Sale and have been approved for sale by a resolution dated August 22, 2017 of the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors.

San Andreas, CA...PLANNING COMMISSION NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING LEAD AGENCY: Calaveras County Planning Department, 891 Mountain Ranch Rd., San Andreas, CA 95249 2017-075 ZA FOR MARK BOLGER: This application proposes to re-zone 118.1 acres of land in Calaveras County from U (Unclassified) to A1 (General Agriculture). The two contiguous parcels are located at 4629 & 4872 Banner Road, approximately ½ mile east of the intersection of South Rail Road Flat Road and Banner Road between the communities of Mountain Ranch and Rail Road Flat. West Point, CA...When filmmaker and award-winning writer, Lisa Michelle, of West Point, decided to bring her screenplay, Common Ground, to life, she knew that Calaveras County was the perfect location. The rural atmosphere and the children who reside in West Point, Wilseyville, and Rail Road Flat represented the authenticity in the story that Michelle wanted to tell. The supporting characters and extras were cast entirely from Calaveras County residents.

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) will be holding its 19th Annual Fall Health Fair on Saturday, September 30th from 7am to noon at the Hospital Campus in San Andreas. “Our purpose is to serve our community in many ways,” said Bob Diehl, Hospital President. “MTMC cares deeply about the health and wellbeing of our community members and beyond. Hosting our annual health fairs is just one way that we are able to provide valuable and needed resources in our rural community.”

San Andreas, CA...School staff intervened in an altercation yesterday involving multiple students. Law enforcement was called to assist. Students, staff and counselors are working together through this unfortunate event. This is an ongoing investigation and no further comment will be provided.
