Murphys, CA...Mineral restaurant, located in the charming gold rush town of Murphys, Ca. was named one of America’s top restaurants and received an Award of Distinction from Wine Enthusiast Magazine, featured in the February 2008 issue. Selection, service, individuality, and value are all considered. The judging panel, composed of members of the magazines editorial staff and wine professionals also consider storage methods, stemware choices, service options, special events, menus, and the wine list. Winners are considered the nations most quality minded and innovative restaurants.....

At LAST! We have a NUMBER! The final analysis has finally been completed by Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac telling us what the new conforming loan limits are for our State. Unfortunately they vary county by county, so if you need information for any counties not listed here, please give me a call, or send me an email for the limits. There are rules that apply to these new loan limits, some lenders will not allow cash out, while others will, some will not allow the loan to be processed until July, some are taking loans now, some are requiring....

Calaveras County, CA...Sarah Lunsford of Murphys has joined the race for Calaveras County Supervisor District 4. She will be running against longtime Supervisor, Tom Tryon, new candidates Lee Seaton and Ron Klass. Ms. Lunsford chose to make Calaveras County her home 11 years ago when she moved to Murphys, but she was not unfamiliar with the area. The first time she visited the area she was 13 year old. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in English Literature before going to study law for a year at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. She chose to move on from her studies in law and began working as a Sales Administrator in Silicon Valley..... |

We are glad to have him back. Executive Chef James Lehman teaches very popular cooking classes at Ironstone Vineyards. These classes offer a chance to learn hands-on cooking skills and meals on a professional level.....

Murphys, CA...The 5th Annual "Sonntag Treffen", the Annual Spring VW Get Together, Hosted by the Mother Lode Volkswagen Club in conjunction with the Tri-Dam Lions Club will be held on Sunday, March 9th from 10am~2pm. VW fans and valley VW clubs are invited to join us at the Black Bart Playhouse parking lot in historic downtown Murphys. This event is free and open to the public....

Bear Valley, CA...Four outstanding area high school students who symbolize the future leaders of Calaveras County have been selected to be the Grand Marshals of the Murphys Irish Day Parade to be held in the historic gold rush town on Saturday, March 15, at 11 a.m. parade organizers JoAnna and Bob Reagan felt it was important to honor all the young people of the area who involve themselves in their schools and their communities learning skills and developing traits that will serve them well in their coming endeavors......

Murphys, CA...The last Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce Mixer was held at Growlers & Figaro's in Murphys last week. This was another well attended event that attracted quite a few of the areas movers and shakers. There was ample opportunity for mixing and mingling with other business owners. Several Calaveras County Board of Supervisors were in attendance, as well as many Calaveras Business owners and business people. Government Department Heads including, CDA's, Stephanie Moreno...
