Copperopolis, Ca...Snap Jackson and the Knock on Wood Players are an acoustic quartet hailing from Stockton, but have strong local ties to Calaveras County. Effortlessly blending americana, bluegrass, soul, and old time music, this fantastic ensemble filled the Copper Town Square with uplifting and exciting tunes. With people young and old relaxing on the lawn, in fold out chairs, patio furniture, at tables, on steps, or even in bean bag chairs, the 23rd Annual Music in the Parks Concert Series was kicked off with quite the crowd. This engaging group had listeners laughing, dancing, and singing along as they put on their show...

CCWD Board Adopts Mandatory Stage 3 Water Conservation |

San Andreas, CA....During a regular board meeting held Wednesday June 11, the Calaveras County Water District Board of Directors adopted Stage 3 mandatory water conservation measures, effective immediately, which will affect about 12,600 customers. These conservation measures were adopted in response to Gov. Jerry Brown’s declaration of a drought state of emergency along with a curtailment notice from the State Water Resource Control Board sent out in early June. The district has encouraged its customers to voluntarily conserve water since Brown’s emergency drought declaration and is appreciative of the significant conservation many people have achieved over the past few months...

Copperopolis Man Found Guilty Of Rape Of A Minor |

San Andreas, CA....On June 11, 2014, a Calaveras County jury found Robert Walker, 32, guilty of raping a child under the age of ten with two prison priors. Deputy District Attorney Dana Pfeil prosecuted the case on behalf of the Calaveras County's DA Office. "The victim was very believable and showed incredible courage in testifying. The Jury believed her and I am pleased that justice was served today", Pfeil said....

Copperopolis, CA...Copperopolis seems to be the trouble spot this afternoon as now we have another incident on Reeds Turnpike. This one involves a Nissan vs Mercedes with a head injury to the male in the Nissan. Lanes are still reported as blocked and please use caution in the area..... |
