Angels Camp, CA...The Bret Hare graduation tonight we hope is dry. Odds are that it will be with just a 20% chanch of up to a 10th of an inch of rain. The NWS forecast is as follows: Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 69. South southwest wind around 7 mph. Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. West wind at 6 mph becoming north. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible....

Copperopolis, CA....Piper Faith Nunes was born to Holly Moore and Paul (CP) Nunes of Copperopolis on May 23,2011 at 9:45 p.m. at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and 19 1/2 in. Her grandparents are Robert and Dyana Moore of Copperopolis and Abilio and Bernadette Nunes of Oakdale. Great Grandparents are Barbara Cheney of Copperopolis, and George and Joan Loomis of Angels Camp. Great Great Grandmother is Maria Azevedo of San Jorge,Azores. She has one brother Wyatt Nunes, 5. |

Copperopolis, CA...Emergency crews are on the way to an accident on Hwy 4 and Pool Station Road. More to follow if needed.... An air ambulance has been ordered to transport a middle aged female..and traffic controls are in place at this time...Roadway now clear as of 2pm.

Copperopolis, CA.....It has taken some time for Michael to catch up on all his school work that he missed while he was away, which was his first responsibility to do once he returned. I have a link to the photos that were just posted last night that were taken during the trip. When you see the pictures it really puts into perspective what a great experience for any child to have, win or lose. By entering his project he not only competed against other winners, he learned valuable tools on how to present himself, to be interviewed by the .....

HOSPITAL HOSTS DRIVE TO HELP NEEDY ANIMALS |

The Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Employee Satisfaction Team is at it again! They have initiated a drive to help the many animals whose owners have been affected by the downturn in the economy. Effective immediately, anyone can drop off pet food, cat litter, animal treats, collars, leashes, and cat carriers at the hospital or the Family Medical Centers in Arnold, Angels Camp, Copperopolis, San Andreas and Valley Springs by June 30th. The desperately needed items will be forwarded to The Resource Connection, Animal Control and the Calaveras Humane Society. The hospital hopes to “Stuff another van” with the donations. ....

Copperopolis Area Business Association, in partnership with Frog’s Tooth Vineyards, thanks everyone for coming out and supporting the Copperopolis Country Run on Saturday, May 14th. Race day dawned with light breezes, sunny skies with high clouds, and temperatures in the 60′s and low 70′s – perfect for a country road running race. This year’s field was diverse in terms of hometowns, drawing in runners from the Bay Area, Tuolumne & Amador Counties, and from as far away as the Colorado high desert. We are proud to write that Calaveras County runners placed well in their respective races.....
